Draft at the brewery. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Tastes like sour cherry, chocolate malt, roasted coffee, smooth booze, and chocolate syrup. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like chocolate malt, sour cherry, roasted coffee, and ashy wood. mcberko (18113) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 12, 2017
On tap at AleSmith, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out tart cherries upfront, with subdued roasted malt and light coffee. Flavour is full of tart cherries that overtake this, followed by earthy coffee and light roast. Not a fan of this blend - the tart cherries don’t work well with the base beer. Pass. sonnycheeba (6126) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 12, 2017
Tap at brewery. Pours opaque black. Aroma is chocolate covered cherries, orange peel, medium roast coffee, raisins, and booze. Flavor is chocolate, tart cherries, faint citrus, light woodiness, and soft earthy bitterness. Full body, but came off undercarbed and a little oily/watery. charule (2273) - New York, New York, USA - OCT 2, 2016
On tap at Alesmith. Poured black with tan head. Aroma cherry funk skin. Light carb med bod. Taste pretty sour. :/ TimE (5956) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 27, 2016
Pitch black color. Massively sour cherries and dark chocolate, fudge but not overly sweet nose. The mouth is super balanced with roasted malt, sour cherries, rounded and well integrated. The coffee is minimal. I love the sour edge to this and the cherries are well pronounced.
