Shared by dodgrblu at Capitol Beer bottle share. Pours dark brown with a short tan head and a chocolate and coffee aroma. There is a carbonated treacle flavor with lots of coffee. Delicious and, as a bonus, it sticks to the palate. phaleslu (10553) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 19, 2013
750 ml bottle from jenray- thanks, Jen! Long-time want. Pours an opaque midnight brown color with a thick, frothy tan head that settles slowly. Aroma of coffee, earth, dark fruits (plums, grapes, and apples?), vegetal notes, and dark chocolate. Initially it seems off but smooths into rich coffee and roast as it warms. The flavor, however, starts with intensely rich coffee and super bitter dark chocolate, and then smooths into something more drinkable as it warms. Like two completely different beers at 50 degrees and 65 degrees. Medium-bodied, with a roasty, smooth mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. This may have been a 3.8 or so until I let it warm more. Even as it stands, this is my least favorite of the otherwise world class Speedway Stout lineup. olio (10469) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 27, 2014
75 cl bottle (12.0% abv) @ PBF IX. Thanks tiong!sebletitje (10284) - Enghien, BELGIUM - NOV 22, 2016
Pours black color with a small beige head. Lots of coffee here, espresso, some caramel notes and roasted malts, licorice, some hops also and faint vanilla notes. Roasted malts, chocolate, espresso, vanilla, faint licorice and wooden notes on the finish. Very smooth palate, complex flavor-wise, very pleasant, alcohol also well hidden at first but starts to burn a bit at the end. Excellent but not as mind-blowing as I expected.
Bouteille 75cl courtesy of El Manana +1 @ Sebletitje’s Farewell Tasting.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: roasted start, lots of chocolate, some coffee, very yeasty, some vanilla. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: sweet start, very roasted, bit sourish, alcohol, lots of dark chocolate, bit fruity. Aftertaste: hoppy, bitter, chocolate, very roasted, slightly sweet, hoppy, very roasted finish. Not getting too much coffee.
12oz handbottle thanks to ygtbsm94. Pours a flat lighter amber that looks decently black in the glass with zero head. Nose is heavy aromatic coffee, lemon acidity, dark chocolate fudge, brown sugar, toasted malt. Flavor is sweet, creamed coffee, mocha and espresso with creamy Kahlua heat. Medium bodied albeit thin for style. Nice roasted coffee finish. Consider this rating a place holder until I get to try it on nitro fresh in southern California. And oh will that day be a reckoning. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, Stephen with the HUGE hookup. Dark back pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, big coffee, roast, hints of spice, nice roasty and toffee, nice dark fruits, roast, milk chocolate and vanilla, this is very nice. Taste is a nice mix of dark chocolate, roast, nice coffee, milky coffee and smooth espresso notes, nice dark fruits, molasses, hints of vanilla, finishing fairly bitter, roasted. Very, very nice, DrSilverworm (9671) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 4, 2013
750ml bottle, big thanks to b3shine for sharing! Pitch black color. Good thin brown head, leaves good lace. Sharp, exotic coffee in the nose, but also some nice dark chocolate, and toasted malts. Great big bitter taste, minimal sweet. No hint of the alcohol. Bigger body. Super smooth, light carbonation. Nice velvety smooth kind of chewy texture. Long super-awesome bitter coffee aftertaste. Love that kopi luwak - the already high-quality speedway stout base makes for a great balanced showcase of the coffee varietal, without being a coffee bomb - it’s a great amount of coffee, not overdone. Sublime brew. Great one to savor - good to the last dropping, indeed. douglas88 (9571) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAR 9, 2011
On tap at RBWG- a huge thanks go out to Joe, Dak (that’s Doc you bastards) and AleSmith for this. Pours a totally black color with a medium beige head. A bursting coffee nose, roast, milky, even some smoke. The flavor is huge goodness; massive sweet milky chocolate coffee, the best cup you’ve ever had. Dark fruits, roast and some char. But this is all about the coffee, very smooth, actually insanely so. I had a few glasses to ponder, and I am very grateful. A rich creamy palate. Lovely.
