Perfection in a taster glass, on nitro at the Alesmith Tasting Room. We thought it could not get better than the base Speedway Stout, but it can.

(bottle - 750 ml - 2013 vintage) Dark black with a thin tan head. Coffee and chocolate, mainly chocolate, in the aroma. Like a nice cold mocha with alcohol in it. Flavor is a silky combination of chocolate with a hint of coffee balancing it out underneath. Drinks ever so smooth. Amazing. onceblind (9689) - Denver, Colorado, USA - DEC 7, 2015
Deep black, with a thin and sticky tan head. Stupid, sumptuous nose with loads of sweet caramelly roasted espresso, sweet dark chocolate, and a little vanilla. Pure delight on the flavor. Just amazing. Deep sweet chocolate, lovely rich roasted coffee and espresso throughout, lovely caramelly vanilla undertones, a little heat, more sweet chocolate, and more coffee. Wow. anthony850 (472) - Andover, New Jersey, USA - OCT 6, 2016

On tap at the brewery: The familiar, awesome strong coffee, dark chocolate Speedway with a hint of chicory, a full creamy mouthfeel and a lingering chicory/coffee bitter sweet finish.. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - FEB 8, 2013
Black pour. Nice brown head. Loads of creamy coffee, espresso, bitter chocolate and roasted malt. What a superb beer! DocJitsu (1979) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2013 Pours a very dark brown and opaque. Light taupe head that dissipates pretty quickly. Dark roast coffee, smoke, and a little cherry on the nose. Mouthfeel is creamy, viscous, and inviting. Coffee bean coated in thick milk chocolate flavor. My Lord how fun is this one? Magnificent! JBoan (176) - Arizona, USA - SEP 17, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2014 Revisited: On tap @ Alesmith. Pours deep black like motor oil with a nice mocha head. Aroma is coffee, coffee, coffee! Also chocolate, dark fruit…think figs, plums and raisins, toasted malts and more coffee. Taste of this one is big coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, and more coffee. Simply an amazing stout! Full bodied, creamy mouthful, delicious nectar! This is simply perfection. zizzybalubba (1869) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - DEC 15, 2015
On tap at Tasty Beverage Co., Raleigh. Pours black with a short khaki head. Aroma of strong coffee, mostly. Taste is beautiful blending coffee and rich dark chocolate with notes of vanilla and booze. Somewhat bitter finish but it’s really the coffee that lingers. An outstanding imperial stout!
