COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Speedway Stout’s ominous, pitch-black appearance has become a hallmark of this modern-day classic. Chocolate and roasted malts dominate the flavor, supported by notes of dark fruit, toffee, and caramel. A healthy dose of locally-roasted coffee from Ryan Bros. Coffee, Inc. added to each batch brings out the beer’s dark chocolate flavors and enhances its drinkability. Despite its intensity, Speedway Stout’s fine carbonation and creamy mouthfeel make it very smooth and surprisingly easy to drink. This beer ages very well and will continue to mature for many years to come.

Sterile but seriously chocolatey aroma. "Serious" black color with tan head. Very sweet and chocolatey with a light red apple finish. Notes: ’09 GABF

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2017 ABV - 12 IBU - 70 .Appearance: Jet black, creamy tan head. .Aroma: Roasted coffee, roasted dark malt. Dark fruits, sweet chocolate, caramel , burnt sugar. Smells sweet, with a slight booziness - almost like a bourbon barrel aged beer. Very nice aroma. .Taste: Fresh coffee bean - a very nice refreshing coffee scent, not overpowering. Notes of roasted malt, milk chocolate, raisins, caramel, burnt sugar. Strong roasted flavors work into a subtle lingering bitterness. Just enough bitterness to balance out the sip. .Mouthfeel: The aroma and flavor of this beer are top notch, but what truly stands out here is the mouthfeel. Very full, rich and creamy. Almost chewy in a sense. Just awesome. Easy drinking with a nice warming feel. .Overall: A. .Bottom Line: Top notch. Complex flavor profile, not overpowered, but enhanced with a nice amount of roasted coffee. A very rich, velvety mouthfeel brings the beer to another level.

Uzupełnienie profilu notatki.
Piana obfita drobna dość trwała, zdobi szkło. Kolor czarny. Aromat, gorzka czekolada, kakao, kawa, raczej ubogi z przebijającym alkoholem. Smak wysoka gorzka czekolada, kawa, owocowa słodycz i pełnia słodowa, nuty likierowe z przebijającym alkoholem. .

16oz can, Total Wine SDL. Man is this good. Pours black with brown edges and a thin, creamy, tan head with some lacing. Dark chocolate, sweet malt, coffee, licorice, toffee. Full bodied, very low carb. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Long, roasty, sweet chocolate finish. Everything in balance, delicious, awesome.

Pure black pour, brown head. Smells very rich, strongly roasted malts, coffee, some spice. Full bodied, very smooth and creamy, very low burn from alco but gentle warming sensation. Great, too easy to drink, long and sustained aftertaste. Not over the top at all, balanced. Would drink again.

437 ml can, black with beige head.
roasty, coffee, dark chocolate, dried fruits,
full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonisation, medium to heavy sweetness(lasting), light bitterness, warming, some alcohol, but it is quite well integrated. Overall really well balanced.

473 ml can at home. Pours pitch black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt with lots of coffee along with molasses, hazelnut, dark chocolate, some dark fruits, vanilla and some booze. Full creamy body with a soft carbonation a medium to medium heavy sweetness, a light bitterness and some noticeable alcohol. Flavor of sweetish roasted malt, brown sugar, molasses, chocolate, lots of coffee, faint hints of alcohol. Finishes lightly sweet and roasty with light herbal earthy notes. Overall very well balanced, full of flavors while nothing stands out in particular, very enjoyable brew.

Aus der handlichen Pint-Dose. Im Glas pitchblack wie seine Verpackung, schöner Cremeschaum, der lange hält. In der Nase Zartbitterschokolade, röstig. Im Trunk unfassbar mächtig, cremig, likörig. Kaffee, Pralinen, dabei sogar fast süffig, milchig. Himmel, ist das ein leckeres Ding.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2017 Pours black with creamy head. Aroma: beautiful aroma of coffee perfectly balanced with dark chocolate, a touch of dark fruit, vanilla and subtle roastiness. Taste: here again a perfect balance of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and subtle roastiness. The texture is just perfect, with the beer being pretty full bodied but smooth and easy to drink (no way there are 12% ABV). Great.

Smells and tastes of strong, burnt coffee with chocolate in the background. Alcohol is heavy. Like licking the bottom of a burnt coffee pot. Good, but not sure it lives up to the hype.
