4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is delicious. The light color and frothy white head seem to go with the lighter body feel. The hops are spicy and citrusy with great pine and citrus aromas, and what’s great is they don’t dry out the palate. Flowers, grass, ripe fresh apple, juniper berry. The beer has enough malt support without the malt really getting in the way flavor-wise or becoming sticky. This makes X a total pleasure to drink - easy, but entertainingly complete. Maybe I just got an exceptional bottle, so I will have to research that theory with lots more of ’em...
Smells very, very nice, but the taste . . . nothing.
I was warned, the back of the bottle says, that it embodies drink-ability.
But the front label says: extra pale ale, with big X´s ?
So from that, you might expect it to be extra hoppy, well, its not.
When it warms, you start to sense a bit of bitterness.
The bottle says: serve at 45-50 degrees Fahrenheit.
I would definitely say, that its better at 50 than 45 degrees.
But I don't get this beer at all.
The hops are sweet, but they are just detectable, no noise, no nothing.
From my perspective, this is a very boring beer.
Some people might call it pleasant, but I might actually put this in the rainwater category, that many of largest American brewery's, sadly have resorted to so often.
At its very, very best, I might call this beer flowery, but in a very subdued sense. And there is just to much nothing taste there as well, to justify such an adjective.
The X´s and that Alesmith anvil on the bottle is completely wrong, they aught to paint decorative flowers on it, to at least try and emphasize its few qualities.
Light sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, FraekkeFyr87 (709) - - NOV 7, 2017
The aroma is full of hops, pine, malt, orange, citrus, lemon peel and orange zest. The color is reminiscent of mandarine juice with a haze to it. The taste is full of hops, malt, pine, orange, citrus and lemon peel. A nice beer! nutjes (1243) - Zwevegem, BELGIUM - NOV 2, 2017
DavidSvinth (270) - DENMARK - OCT 12, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 Ragylden med varigt skum.
Klar humleprofil i næsen. Også citrus.
Humle dominerer også i smagen. Det bitre vinder over det søde og giver en amerikansk pale ale over middel. Alusmamuts (2137) - LATVIA - OCT 3, 2017
Light amber with nice creamy white head. Slight grain aroma with citrus notes. Medium hoppy bitterness followed by mildly sour citrus notes. Bitter aftertaste.

650 ml bottle. Pours a bright clear gold/amber with moderate head. Aromas of dank orangey hops and sweet malts. Flavors of grainy malts, a lfruity orange, a little pine and grass. Nothing special from Alesmith. Fules (1374) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - SEP 9, 2017
Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, opálos borostyán szín. Citrusos, déligyümölcsös illat. Kissé száraz, citrusos, fűszeres, enyhén déligyümölcsös ízek. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, közepesen keserű. Rendkívüli egyensúllyal rendelkezik, nagyon jól csúszik. Remek sör.
