Pours an opaque oily black with a spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma of lightly sweet dark caramel malts and some toasty earthy roasted malts. Starts fairly full and dark caramely malty sweet with a nice smoky balance and good dark fruity complexity before a drier bready earthy finish. A nice imperial porter. bhensonb (15601) - Woodland, California, USA - AUG 13, 2008
Bottle from Wine Specialist. Pours dark ruby garnet ending brown with a good tan head. Aroma is dark. Like molasses and coffee and dark fruit. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is tarry molasses, coffee, dark fruit, and chocolate. Although it’s full of malt, the finish is relatively dry. There is something like wood that comes forth in the finish, but this isn’t the oak aged stuff. Gol darny, but it is strong and tasty. One of us should send a bottle to Maria. One of us from the East coast. JB175 (1665) - Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 13, 2008
Darker brown color with a medium head. Aroma is sweet and heavy with hints of chocolate, spices and dark fruits. Flavor is heavy with chocolate, dark fruits, sugar, and a nice porterish quality. Tasty, smooth and overall well done. The best I’ve had yet from these guys. kyzr (1593) - Montana, USA - FEB 6, 2009
Bottle thanks to Immy. Been in my cellar for sometime, but well worth the wait. Porus dark brown with nice creamy brown head. Heavy chocolate with some espresso on the nose. Flavor is sweet with chocolate, coffee, molassess and a touch of smoke. Really nice rich texture that hides the alcohol. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 29, 2009
Dark brown pour. Molasses, toffee and chocolate aroma. Flavor is roasty, molasses, chocolate and toffee. Good porter. VERY good.

Bottle from Immy. Oh, the ecstasy!BOLTZ7555 (3027) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAR 28, 2010
Pours a perfect black with an ample olive green head. Aroma is chocolate chip cookie malt with hints of dark yeast dough in the background. Flavor is straight-up raisin chocolate with bitter coffee grounds and milk chocolate bits. Nice, chewy mouthfeel. Pretty good brew.
UPDATED: APR 4, 2010 Another one shared by cbkschubert @ Hellbilly’s...this one is a winner Craig!!! Mahogany brew with dark crimson highlights and a creamy eggshell head. Assertive cocoa in the nose and the chocolate is equally aggressive in the flavor. A bit of smoke and molasses add to the complexity of this one although it is a bit sugary. Velvety mouthfeel. Glad I could try it!!! Ibrew2or3 (8807) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Courtesy of ksurkin. Pours dark with mahogany edges and mocha head. The aroma is pretty darn rich with molasses, caramel, prunes, dried cherries, chocolate, a mild note of black licorice and a muted array of Noble hops. The taste is smooth with near creamy molasses, burnt malts, caramel, dark roastiness, chocolate and a bit of toffee. Well put together. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 7, 2011
In short: A toasted, caramelized, chocolaty and nutty dark ale that is just too easy to drink.MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 13, 2011
How: Bottle 22oz. Exact age unknown. Bottle sent to me by ksurkin, thank a lot Ken
The look: Near black body topped by a small tan head
In long: Nose is fudge caramel, chocolaty and roasted nuts. Pleasant malt backbone just how I like it, rich and creamy with fudge caramel, cacao powder, notes of chocolate but also a lot of toasted nuts and dry bread crust that dry out the beer. Not much fruity flavors to talk about. Leafy resinous hops work with the toasted bread and toasted nuts to really keep the sweetness in check. This beer is scarily drinkable. I like it. Go a lot to drink again on that knight. I realize now that I really can’t hold my alcohol. That’s why I swallow it.
Really really good.
Nice black / deep brown pour with a big aroma of dark chocolate, roasted lats and coffee. A nice dry coffee bean and dark roasted chocolate flavor. A really well blended Porter.
