Bottle... Pours clear and brown with copper highlights and a small, flimsy, white head. The nose is both toasty and nutty. Medium to full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is nutty, toasty and pleasantly sweet. Mildly chocolaty finish with a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian!

DocLock (10573) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Draft at Colonial Williamburg. Pours hazy dark brown with minimal off-tan head. Nose was earthy, bready vienna malt, mild cacao, nuts, and backup hops, Tasted rich, with an earthy nutty malt up front, some mid-palate cacao, and a smooth finish. This beer matched really well with the cramped and old-fashioned confines of the tavern we were in, and really seemed to fit the period well. It took me back in time.

Bottle pour @ the 21st Richmond Gathering. Amber pour with a small head. Loads of caramel. Hot cross buns. A bit of cocoa. Taste is overly carbed. Loads of cola, nuts, caramel. Chocolate malt. Brown toast. Meidum body. Carbonation takes away from it a bit.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7621) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2013
Mom brought this one back from a trip to Williamsburg. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with faint orange highlights and a medium sized foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sweet and malty molasses, nut and wood. The flavor was malty, dryish and a bit bitter with notes of wood, nut and pretzel. Medium length bitter finish with lingering wood an nut. Medium body. Meh.

Braudog (6630) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Draft at Taphouse/Queensway. Dark brown and fairly "regular" looking fro an American brown. Nutty and caramel all the way, but evenly spread, quite drinkable and unoffensive. Creamy mouthfeel. The finish is a bit shallow and a let down; otherwise a good beer. (#5341, 11/23/2013)
