From a tall boy, pours a very large amount of frothy off-white head. After a while, leaves a smaller layer and sticks around. Has patchy lacing. Appearance is golden amber. Aromas are mainly herbal and floral hops with a bit of resin hops as the backbone. Flavours consist of light floral hops and a much more malty influenced taste, mainly toasty, nutty type malts. Some spicy notes and slight bitterness make it definitely more flavourful than their regular ipa. Light bodied and mildy creamy mouthfeel. Pretty average carbonation. Enjoyed more than the Cascade Hop Ale and probably the same as the Hop Mason. Just ok. Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2016
A reddish amber ale with a thick frothy lacing light mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with nice resinous floral hops, light pink grapefruit, OK. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with light grassy floral hops, light treacle, a tad too sweet, not bad but... Ok, it’s a Labatt product... Can from LCBO. radiomgb (2686) - Peterborough, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 27, 2016
473ml can. Golden orange in colour with a very thin white head, little lacing. Aroma of caramel and grass. Flavour is very lightly hopped, more caramel. Watery mouthfeel, light body, light carbonation. Finishes quick. Fuuuuuuuuck, why did I buy this. cyrenaica (1159) - Milton, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 28, 2014

The beer pours a golden-red colour with a very thin tan coloured ring for a cap. The aroma is floral hops, grains, as well as some weak caramel notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is very grainy, far less flavourful than the Cascade version. Definitely not worth retrying.
Very nice pale ale. Not over the top with malt or hoppiness. Slightly spicy with some piney notes. I actually prefer the Cascade version, but both are well crafted.

Trev (2023) - Lakeville, Minnesota, USA - AUG 19, 2014
Can: light amber pour. Medium foamy head.
Aroma is grassy, light floral hop. Light grainy malt.
Flavour is sourish grain, grassy, herbal hop. Hint of floral honey and anise in the finish.

From a 16 oz can. Pours a clear gold with an off white. Bready nose. Light flavors of pineapple. Smooth light finish. samzim (437) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 17, 2014
Mild hoppy aroma with notes of malt and citrus. Clear straw caramel colour. Mild bitterness with flavour of grapefruit and lightly roasted malt. Medium body with lively carbonation. Nothing too interesting; wouldn’t buy again. RD400F (226) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 3, 2014
Day 2 of Alexander Keith. Reading previous ratings I’m wondering if this is pure shit or not so bad like the other. Anyway, bottle to Sam Adams pint glass, pour is transparent orangey amber with a minimal white head. If this really is the same recipe but with different hops, I’m surprised the head retention changed this much. Aroma consists of a familiar smell that I come across a lot of Belgian beers, those grassy, leafy, spicy hop notes. Unfortunately nothing else comes through except for very light malt and caramel notes. Sad. Taste....I shit you not, same as the other beer but more pisswatery. Even compared to the last beer this has even less hop notes and what the last beer needed was more hop notes. Not impressed. Palate is thin bodied, CO2 medium, balanced well and easily drinkable. Overall, a thirst quenchin’, pot smokin’, lawn mowin’ beer. It’s not shit but fuck they need to up the hops a bit. I’m not expecting IPA levels but they could make it more interesting Cheap fuckers.
