Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is mostly caramel, sweet malt, honey, with a touch of roast. Flavor is sweet and nutty. Medium mouthfeel. Not bad. adnielsen (10605) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - AUG 20, 2011
Bottle @ home. Dark brown appearance with a foamy, light brown head. Nutty, caramel malty, somewhat bitter, mass produced macro aroma. Toasty, nutty, caramel malty, bitter, kind of nasty, macro flavor. I really get that nasty macro flavor in this beer. Gross. MaBeer1972 (2039) - Taunton, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 20, 2011
A good looking brown ale. Nice carbonation. Good roasty aroma. Flavor is very sweet and unbalanced though. Shame that I have 5 more of these to deal with now. crossovert (12666) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2011
It is a sweet ass produced brown ale. Mostly caramel when you drink this one. vikingguy (1101) - Carver, Minnesota, USA - AUG 9, 2011
Dark brown, tan head. Fragrant sweet caramel malt aroma. Taste is very sweet...notes of caramel, toffee, brown sugar and bread dough. Quite mild but it does have a bit of bitter bite to it at the end which helps balance the sweetness. Medium-Light body. I like this, however it’s a little too sweet for an everyday drinking brew.

Bottle. Toffee malt and grass aroma. Medium brown color with moderate head. Very sweet brown sugar and light bitter grass flavor. Not so great. Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 6, 2011
12oz bottle pours amber with tan head. Pretty light colored body for a brown. The aroma is sweet with fruity esters as well as earthiness and roasted malts. The taste is similar with ripe red apple and cherry like sweet fruity esters notes rolling into mild levels of roasted malts and faint earthiness. Pretty darn slick and sweet for a brown. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - AUG 6, 2011
Bottle; dark auburn color with an off white head. Aroma was not great; rotting fruit, earth and caramel. Flavor of caramel with weird notes of fruit. A bit off, but ok. BillKismet (4041) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 4, 2011
Deep chestnut color, thick dense, etiolated froth top. Tree nut aroma, essence of bark and softened brown malt. Sweet brown malt body. Maple syrup and essence of nut. Quite a nice brown ale with a subdued hoppiness. Sticky sweet brown malt finish. Boliv (1150) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 3, 2011
Bottle. Pours brownish-red with a small tan head. Aromas of sweet caramel and sugar, with some toffee. The flavor is very much the same; sweet and malt-forward, with sugar cane evident. Very little hop presence here. Meh. Redeeming factor: at least there’s a cool deer on the label.
