Bottle at home, out of a sixpack. The first one I drank was good, I enjoyed it. But later on, the flavor became disappointing. Not one of the best bockbeers I’ve got this fall.

Malty grainy beginning. Not too deep surprisingly. Refreshing dry malty. Caramel, moderate to low bitterness, quite dry in body. Long intense malty roasted aftertaste with hints of burned caramel.

Bokbier met een licht zoetige smaak. Beetje caramelachtig. Slechts een lichte nasmaak.

0.3 l bottle from AH (Sittard), best before October 2017. Clear, dark red with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, grainy and slightly grassy aroma of caramel, grains, straw and some raisins. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity taste of caramel, brown sugar, molasses, some raisins and a touch of plasticine, followed by a short, slightly bitter, slightly grainy-metallic finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Drinkable, but quite clumsy.

Cleaning out my beercloset. This one isn’t too bad though. Nice and sweet, not too herbal, easily drinkable but still a nice and lasting taste. Medium body, soft carbo, slightly smooth feel.

Een prima bokbier, met een gebrandemoutsmaak. Wat houterig, karamelachtig en koffieachtig (in de verte).

The beer had a nice look. The color is a reddish brown. The beer is nicely clear. The beer pours a thick layer of white foam. The bulk of the foam collapses quickly and a thin drape of foam remains on top of the foam. The beer has a nice smell. The smell is sweet with a tiny bitterness. There are aromas of red forest fruits, caramel and syrup. I also smell some hops. The smell is less than most bok beers. The taste has a nice almond flavor, of the alcohol. I also taste some syrup, caramel and sugar. The taste is nice, but a little bit less than most bok beers. But, all in all, not bad.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2016 Kastanjebruin, helder bier. Schuim trekt snel weg. Mout, gist, wat chemisch. Bitterzoet, zuurtje en wat droogte op de nasmaak. Prikkelend, medium body. Niet onderscheidend.

Bottle from Albert Heijn, Den Haag. Poured a clear medium brown with a fizzy, short-lived light tan head. The aroma is yeast, light sweet malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a light, smooth, sweet malt, light woody bitter hop palate. Medium bodied with lively carbonation.

Bottle 33cl. @local AH supermarket. Clear dark amber, large frothy beige head, good retention and lacing; sweet malty aroma, light roasted, caramel, blueberry notes; taste medium to light heavy sweet, light bitter, bit sugary, malty, light fruitiness; medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, aftertaste mild bittersweet, light roast and spicy notes in the finish; very pleasant Bock.

Currently I am updating my ratebeer with al the beers I drank but was too lazy to rate at the time. I give the scores I gave back than. If I drink the beers again I might re-rate them.
