Clear medium to dark red brown color with a large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is caramel, earth, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20091113]

yespr (47039) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2009
30 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a golden orange glare and a small tan head. Aroma is fruity yeasty with a light caramelish malt note. Sweet malt flavoured, light yeasty/estery fruity. Sweet lingering finish.

Ungstrup (38242) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - FEB 26, 2004
A red brown beer with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet caramel with only hints of malt. The body is thin.

Papsoe (25059) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 3, 2005
(Bottle 30 cl) Very dark brown with a small head and a heavy carbonation. Malty and quite dry - no cloying sweetness here as sometimes in Dutch "Oud Bruins". Very discreet bitterness. Quite pleasant. 030601

For a low-alc beer, it's not too bad. Kind of perks you up a bit at lunch and you can still function that afternoon. Of course, we don't get oud bruin in Canada so that was a one-time thing.

MiP (15960) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - NOV 13, 2009
Bottle, 2.5%. Subtle sweet aroma. Clear dark brown colour, red shine. Small brown head. The flavour starts off slightly metallic. The flavour is sweet, seems to have a little brown sugar and malt syrup. Thin mouthfeel.

bierkoning (13598) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - DEC 22, 2002
Sweet flavor with brown sugar and caramel. Fresh, with just a hint of sourness. Has more bite and body than most other oud bruin beers.

Mariusz (12088) - Baden-Baden, GERMANY - MAY 23, 2014
Pours brown color with a thin brown head. Aroma of caramel and malty. A litte sweet malty taste. Thin body.

deanso (10220) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - OCT 8, 2013
33cl bottle from the leiden beer shop. Light beige head. Clear amber pour. A little too sweet for my taste.

caesar (7170) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAR 6, 2003
Typical dutch oud bruin. Dark brown color, quickly disappearing head. Extremely sweet, slightly malty aroma and taste. Loads of sugar. Not my kind of beer, maybe my mother likes it...
