unsure if this is the right entry for the beer i tried, which was labelled "bonneville amber ale", but i can't find any else pertaining to what it could be, on or off ratebeer, the other beer sites, and the internet itself. if it turns out the review is in the wrong place, i will move it :) - anyway, had a pint of this at the grapes pub in hereford, which has a fairly decent selection of beers on tap and in bottles. pint, draught. incredibly sharp, yeasty and tart. occurred to me that it may be possible that the beer was off, but the more i sipped it, the more the aftertaste revealed to me a complex array of hops. still, incredibly sharp for a dark red beer.

On tap at Vino Volo. Pours a hazy copper with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is bread and earth. Thin body, wet biscuit, rye, light finish, decent.

Bread/bread crust and caramel/sweet aroma and flavor. Fruity hop flavor; not much in the aroma. A well balanced Amber.

Sampled at the brewpub. Big caramel notes, toasted malts in the background, soft hop character. A good example of the style.

On tap at the bowling alley. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A sweet fruity and yeasty nose. The flavor is watermelon, bubblegum, light hops, earthy and fresh. Light. Decent. Unusual in the fruity flavors.
