EBF 2010 Session One: Deep brown with a tan film of head. The aroma has mocha, wood, peat, toasted dry oak and some marshmallow character. The flavor is oaky with notes of cocoa, mild coffee, and dry bourbon meshes with a chocolaty presence. Very cohesive flavors and picked up nice dry woody tannins from the barrel. Bottle thanks to bman1113vr. Pours a deep, dark brown with tan head. Aroma of some dark roast, hops, some light citrus. Flavor is pretty good, some dark roast, hops, very faint bitter. Mouth feel is med-full body with low carbonation. Overall, pretty good stuff!

On tap at the 2013 Capones Black Friday event. Dark brown with a faint dark tan head. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, buttery, yeast, some bittersweet chocolate, bit of fruitiness. Moderate body and carbonation, palate is sweet and somewhat dry, overall felt the combination of the belgian stout with the barrel treatment was just a little too much and didn’t work for me. O well. Tasted on draft at FoBAB 2010. Pours nearly black amber with a massive off-white head that leaves rocky lace. The nose is super-roasted malt with espresso and bitter dark chocolate. The flavor is vanilla oak, bourbon, roasted malt, espresso, and dark chocolate. On tap at brewpub. A ruby reddish dark brown with a short lived beige head that leaves a lacing. Aroma is coconut, chocolate, wood, molasses. Flavor is thick caramel, chocolate, bourbon whiskey, coconut. Finish is bitter, dark chocolate, wood. Lingering dark chocolate and wood flavors. Light body, somewhat sticky mouthfeel, weak carbonation. Good!
