On tap at Capones. Poured a dark black color with a smaller sized off white/tan head. Aromas of roastiness, woody, smoke, vanilla, and a trace (if any) of bourbon. Tastes of vanilla, woody/oak, dark fruits, roasty, chocolate, the same smokiness, and vanilla. If I wasn’t told this was done in a Bourbon Barrel, I would have just guessed Oak Aged. Tap at Brouewrij Lane. Nose is bourbon , malty and sweet. Smooth yet intense bourbon quality. The base beer holds up well to the bourbon but the Belgian aspect seems to take a backseat. Rich chocolate mesh with the barrel aging to make this a smooth and delicious sipper. egajdzis (6588) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2009
[Draft @ Capones] Poured an opaque black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, vanilla, light bourbon, dark fruits, and chocolate. Taste of cocoa, vanilla, smoke, roasted malts, some caramel malts, oaky bourbon, and some alcohol in the finish. Lumpy (1802) - Carrollton, Texas, USA - APR 22, 2009
Bottle. Nose-smells like La Folie, butter, sour, jasmine tea. Taste-butter, smoked tea, usual barrel aged flavors, some tannins from the wood. Nicely done. Rosebud butternuts (2396) - Denton, Texas, USA - MAY 6, 2009

EBF 2010 Session One: Deep brown with a tan film of head. The aroma has mocha, wood, peat, toasted dry oak and some marshmallow character. The flavor is oaky with notes of cocoa, mild coffee, and dry bourbon meshes with a chocolaty presence. Very cohesive flavors and picked up nice dry woody tannins from the barrel. Subtle, complex and tasty. mansquito (6437) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUL 1, 2012
Rustico, Ballston tap ($9): Pours black with a small creamy head. Aroma is very complex: vanilla, bourbon, light roast coffee, and a hefty hint of booze as it warms. Taste is pretty similar. The alcohol is noticeable, but the taste is actually not offensive to me in the least bit. For me this was a definitive sipper, but each sip was very nice and mellow. At no point did I feel that any taste is overpowering. The roast is kept in moderation. There is very little bitterness, but at the same time very mild sweetness. Draft. Nice lacing. Upfront yet not overbearing bourbon aroma. Smooth taste. Not thick. Bourbon is prevalent throughout. One of my favorites.

Pours black with a thin off white head. The nose is vanilla, coconut, cherries, peaches and a little chocolate. The taste is high sweet, low bitter and high Delish. The texture is creamy and smooth, heavy body and a long finish. Legit.
