Aroma of underripe cherries, rhubarb, and strawberry stem. Pours pink with slight fizzy film. Taste is like white cherries, strawberry rhubarb, sourdough, crabapple and slight cheese. Great sour. I absolutely love it. JStax (6501) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - AUG 4, 2013
375 ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a white head. The aroma has a ton of cherry, like cherry pie filling. Tastes sour and fruity. Awesome! Experiment_Ale (1098) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 7, 2014
At cat-infested house during GABF 2013. Aroma is big sour, grapefruit, incredibly pleasant sour notes, medium acidity. Taste is big sour, grapefruit, lemon tart, and tangy. I like this shit a lot, would bang again. oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - JUL 2, 2010
On tap from a 5 gallon keg at Ebs. Hazy peach pour with light white carbonation. Tons of funk in the nose- farm, white grapes, sour cherry, hay, and wood. The flavor is juicy cherry and nectar nectar fruits with white grape notes and an extremely interesting funk profile. I guess thats what New England yeast can do...Palate is slippery, finishing dry and crisp. Best Allagash I’ve had. cubs (10635) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAY 25, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2013 Bottle @ home, cracked open to celebrate finishing my second master’s degree and the crown jewel of JetsonFest II. Opened the 375 with a slight pop though it didn’t gush. Beautiful pinkish peach, cloudy appearance with a mild to moderate sized white head. The aroma just has a ton of cheese, funk, and barnyard elements very reminiscent of a nice Belgian-made gueuze. The cherry element in the nose is fairly mild but packs a mild tartness and a nice sweet, pie-like aroma. Tons of cheese in the nose. I’m in love so far. Quite tart pie cherry taste in the flavor that is again a bit in the background compared to the cheesy, funky elements. The tartness does jump in and pucker your cheeks immediately. Good carbonation leads a refreshing acidity. The cheesy, funky, lactic/lemon element, while quite prominent in the flavor, isn’t as perfect as the aroma. Puckering, funky finish with a very nice, lasting aftertaste. I think maybe I would have liked a bigger cherry presence, but fuck, beggars can’t be choosers. Aroma was unbelievable. Tasted next a 2009 Cantillon Kriek and the aroma on this one was far superior and far less sour in the flavor.

Bottle huge thanks to Greg from CK for this one!! Pours a lovely light pink, cloudy color, seems like not as much fruit extraction via color from your typical kriek. Nose is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous tannic cherry pit, funky brett, and minimal acetic acid but gorgeous sour presence. Same on the flavor, with beautiful biting cherry but no astringent acidity. Just wondrous. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - APR 14, 2013
Pours a hazy pink lemonade color with a two plus finger fizzy white foam. On the nose its tart cherry pie, crust and all, touch of lemon funk and a bit of basement dankness. The palate follows with great balance between sour and tart. This beer is delicious and maybe my favorite of all the coolships. Ripe round cherries add a nice sweet full mouthfeel and fruity funk... so good ! Travlr (24759) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUL 5, 2013
Bottle from the source shared with ajax25g. Cloudy pinkish red color, pink champagne head. Aroma of dusty cherries and funky lemons, red licorice candy. Taste is gorgeous dusty and sour fruit and berries. Minderbinder (3469) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 7, 2013
Pours salmon with low white head. Aroma is of cherries, sugar, sourness, cinnamon. Taste is of cherries, sourness, sweet, some sligth acid lactic. Palate: Good balance. Ligth body. Overall: Outstanding beer. Very fruity. Nice balance. Not cloying. Refreshing, drinkable. Alcohol well hidden. A fine beer. davey101 (751) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Huge thanks to BobZ for the bottle. Bottled on 01/23/2012. 375 ml C+C bottle into a HF wine glass. Pours a deep red body that appears burnt orange in front of light. A finger of whispy foam clings to the sides for the whole ride. Really looks quite lovely.
S - Huge cherry jam blast with faint notes of funk lingering in the background. Buttery oak barrels and some cinnamon spice. This smells amazing.
T - Layers of tart cherries and smooth cherry jam blend seamlessly into some musky funk and wonderfully buttery smooth oak. A lingering acetic bite on the finish. Sour cherry pie here, really frickin delicious. Improves as it warms up too. Mouth feel is coating yet spritzy. Really surprised that the abv is this high, not noticeable in the least bit.
O - One of the better American wilds I have tried. This is really something special. The funk is just right for being nearly 20 months old and the huge wall of tart cherries against the buttery oak is just perfect. Can compete with most authentic Belgian krieks.
