COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Emotional Honey is a sour, red aged for two years in an oak foudre with pediococcus and lactobacillus. The beer was then transferred into mead barrels, from Vermont mead maker Artesano, and aged an additional 8 months. The finished beer is copper in color with a complex aroma including oak, dill and stone fruit. Emotional Honey has a lingering malt character in the flavor, an assertive tartness and long, dry finish.

375 ml Bottle. Stored properly since 2015.
Deep, unclear straw/ golden color, no head. Aroma of tannic oak, honey, old apple juice, maybe white grapes.

I did intend to hold this bottle a long while because the style itself I don't enjoy. This is very different however. The sweet honey / malts with fruit balance the sourness and tartness. On the higher end of the style scale for my personal taste buds.

Bottle @ Steve_0 during my 10k tick fest. Thanks to Lukaduke for sending! Pours a murky orange appearance with a thin tan head. Light funk, cookie, lemon snap, cinnamon, honey aroma. Pretty juicy. Some acetic acid. Quite a bit of oak, some funk, lots of lemon, and tangerines. Not their best but still kind of fun.

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, very hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big honey, red fruit, oak, earth, slight tart lemon, touch of grain. Taste was a mix of oak, earth, lemon into more honey, red fruit, hints of grain, caramel, slight earth, finishing slightly tart, slightly sweet. Pretty tasty, a bit disjointed but still works.

Bottle brought by BBQSlim, thanks alot sir! Very nice colour, gorgeous head. One of the better american sours I’ve had up to date. Some aceto balsamico but not dominating, honey, sour red fruit. Awesome.

Pours a deep golden honey color with a finger of eggshell foam. Aromas are tart apple cider with underlying peach, nectarine and toasted malts with a hint of basement must. Palate is fruity with some tart funk as well. Smarties candy, toasted oak, ripe cherry, wet wood, lingering sweetness. Nice !

375ml bottle pour hazy toasted red with a finger of head. Nose is tart sweet and sour acidic cherry and berry with hints of vinegarette and light oaky vanilla funk. Taste is similar with well balanced acidity, soft rounded oak presence throughout, light funk, tart dark cherry, woody spice, and hints of toast. Finish is tart with slight sweet fruit, dry wood, crisp acidity. Fantastic.
