Allagash Fluxus is so named because it is the first beer brewed in our new brewery. Fluxus marks the change and growth of Allagash Brewing Company, and our passage from the corner of our original building to a new, state of the art brewery. Brewed with Belgian Pilsner Malt and 25% Rye malt, the beer is full-bodied with a spicy, herbal taste. A floral note arises with the addition of Yarrow, which is a flowering plant that was historically used as an alternative to hops. The 10% abv beer is hopped with Warrior and Brewers Gold which impart a subtle bitterness. Finally Fluxus, like all our beers, undergoes a second fermentation, the methode champenoise, by which we naturally carbonate our beer in the bottle.

Backlog. Draft at Teresa’s. Pours a hazy golden body with thick white lacing. Aroma is spice, malt, dark fruit, light floral hop and cream. Mouthfeel is medium to light with soft fruits and vanilla upfront, followed by a nice spicy hop character and additional notes of earth, citrus, grapefruit and flowers.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours orange gold with a disappearing beige head and a musty aroma. there is a slightly carbonated fruit and spice flavor suspended over a hearty caramel malt base. Nicely aged.

750 c&c from bu11zeye. Thanks much for this! Pours orange gold with a transient wite head. Aroma of light stone fruit and grape must. Full bodied. Mild carb. Flavor is sort of tripel crossed with barley wine - with spice/must. Aged very well.

bottle from Wine Warehouse, Greensboro, which I’ve never been to, I think I got this in a trade with ross. good aroma, sweet. nutty, little spice, banana, apple. 1st pour, clean golden orange color, small head, faded quick, little to no lace. sweet flavor. heavy body, oily creamy mouthfeel, sweet dry finish. drinking, nice, not oxidized, big on sweetness, pleasant enough, don’t think I’d drink alot of this, well, I’m gonna drink about 750mls right now, maybe I’ll grab a recent one fro comparsion.

Tallahassee, Fl - at drowland’s 7/7/12 going away tasting party - thanks to colemanzuber. Dark orange pour, off-white head. Nutty aroma, hint of spices. Flavor is sweet with some yeasty notes, a hint of spiciness. Some spearmint like notes make their way through to make it quite interesting. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky. Nice.

7/7/12. Shared at my going away tasting by czuber! Hazy orange pour with a small head. Minty aroma with touches of yeast. Light yeasty flavor with more mint and fruity esters. Nice.

Thanks to Coleman again! Hazy orange pour with a white head. Nose has lots of spearmint, herbally, hints of subtle grains. Black pepper, spearmint, herbs, mild grain character. Very interesting and tasty.

Pours unclear amber malty in color with red clay white head. The aroma brings lightly sweet aged oaky malt notes with some alcohol notes at the end. The flavor brings some aged malt notes with the alcohol presence still there and some starch like flavors.

Hazy amber beer. Dry frothy palate. Immediate vegetable spice that dominates the creamy malt. A bit like ginger but it’s not ginger! Frothy in the mouth, it finishes dry with some warmth. As so often with Allagash - interesting but not quite inspiring.
