750ml bottle purchased at The Lighthouse in Manchester, Maine. Pours a hazy yellow-orange body with a little less than an inch of off-white head. Orange, lemon, grapefruit, pith, coriander, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice... Wow. Spice is the first thing that jumps out, with cinnamon, nutmeg, and coriander. Citrus plays a strong supporting role, with orange and lemon chief among the flavors. Effervescent, light in body, with a fair bit of carbonation. This is one hell of a witbier. Complex but balanced, and super-drinkable for the ABV and complexity. Cletus (6355) - Connecticut, USA - OCT 4, 2008
Pours gold with a nice pillowy white head. Smells of sweet candi sugar, spice, some peppery splashes, pronounced floral hints. Tastes dry with a gingery bite. Great beer! branspra (293) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - SEP 8, 2008
Bottle. Excellent beer! Frothy head with a cloudy / hazy body. Hints of molasses, citrus, orange, banana, maply syrup, and ginger. Nearly perfect balance of flavor - highly recommended. Nik925 (795) - USA - SEP 6, 2008
Wow! Cloves and cinnamon. Hmmm all sorts of spice flavors with a mild yeast funk. Its very different from anything I’ve had recently, would personally label it a herb/spice ale. Allspice? maybe a little cardamom. Ginger is hard to identify but its a dominate flavor. Points off on appearance as it looked like a headless whitbier. Came in a tiny 20cl glass which is too bad as I could have drank this all night. Boutip (6439) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 15, 2009
Bottle: Poured a cloudy bright yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and good lacing. Aroma of ginger and wheat with a slightly peppery yeast and some nice fruity ester. Taste is very refreshing with loads of ginger and wheat with some very nice fruity ester. Body is full with limited filtration and great carbonation with no signs of alcohol. Very well done with great refreshing taste but some real complexity.

Draught @ GLB Portland ME.
This is a pumped up version of Allagash White that is beautiful. Ginger in spice in the nose follow through in the mid palette. The beer was brilliant and clouded with a slightly amber hue not seen in the white. Full bodied and wonderful to sip on. WOuld pair really well with clean fruity slow food or spicy ginger based asian dishes.

Hazy yellow-gold with big, foamy white head / Light nose of banana and spice / Medium to full body, with creamy, sweet malts and a touch of dry hoppiness on the good finish / Bold flavors of banana, pear, clove, and coriander / Very good, a strong wit, improving markedly as it warms. 750ml bottle. Poured a hazy yellow color. The head was white with good retention. Some lace was left behind on the glass at the end. Attractive aroma of flower blossom, sweet orange marmalade, lime, and coriander. Medium bodied and semi-sweet with a light chalky feel. Well orchestrated melange of flavors including the likes of citrus fruits (orange and lime), coriander, peach pasty, and a dash of powdered sugar. Delicious. I prefered the this one to the ’07 Fluxus. illidurit (2347) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 15, 2008
On tap at 515 in Santa Cruz. Poured into a snifter. Nice fluffy white head atop a cloudy white peach body. Good lacing and retention.
Aroma is decidedly spicy. Lots of coriander and nutmeg, with the trademark zing of ginger.
Flavor is sweet and spiced. Ripe pear with eggnog, coriander, and ginger notes.
Mouthfeel is very full for a witbier. Carbonation is good, alcohol is minimal. Overall a fulfilling and flavorful wit.

On draft at Brouwer’s. Pours a deep, cloudy honey amber with a huge head. Earthy and fruity, with a ton of depth to the flavor. Yeast, ginger and other spices, citrus and lavender (we agonized for 20 minutes over what that flavor was - it’s definitely lavender). Almost like a good gingerbread, and possibly slightly medicinal, or bubble-gummish (one fellow taster exclaimed he found a note of Flintstones vitamins in it). Incredibly intriguing flavor - I liked it quite a bit.
