Draft at Sam’s Quik Shop. Pours a hazy dark golden with a white thick head. Nose is brett, bread, fruity, with hints of peaches, lemons, and some floral notes, even chamomile. Slight funk and a nice tart acetic kick, but still so very drinkable. Could drink it all day.
Sample at the brewery taproom. Cloudy golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Funky and vinous aroma with oak and yeast notes. Medium body with flavors of brett yeast, white grape, oak and doughy malt. The finish is mildly funky with a fruit and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good all around. Wonderful aroma, brett fruitiness and funkiness. Taste is good as well, tropical fruit, some funk. A bit heavy on the hops, not sure Simcoe was the best idea for this one. Still, overall an excellent beer. Sammy (13013) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 23, 2017
Classic brett ale, still good after some ageing. Hits the style and all of its notes. Not too funky a nose. A requirement to try. BrettTaylor (784) - Radford, Virginia, USA - SEP 17, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 17, 2017 Pours a slightly hazy gold with 2 finger head. Level of head drops some but never goes away. Nice lactic and Brett notes on nose. Initially a,quick burst of sweetness, then the tart and lactic notes kick in. Very fizzy carbonation on tongue. Bebum (1126) - Massachusetts, USA - JUL 21, 2017
Medium body, strong flavor, bright, rich and hot mouthfeel, average length.
Sharp, bitter particularly at the end, dry.
Curious flavors, hoppy, herbal, wet hay.
Interesting, wakes you up.
