Thanks to Darkover for the trade. Great example of a winter ale. Pours a hazy amber/orange color with a thin light beige head. Thin but very sticky lacing. Welcoming aroma of spices and malt. Medium-bodied, not to spicy and not too sweet. Flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, malt and caramel lingering around. Finish is lightly hopped and a little fruity (apple and/or apricot, it was hard to pinpoint). I liked this easy-drinking seasonal. crossovert (12929) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 22, 2013

Medium mahogony color with a very small off-white head. Aromas of spice, fruits, sugars and malts. Spicy tasting with some sweetness. Easy to drink. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 14, 2008
12 oz bottle-pours a big rich to shaving cream light tan head that laces and hazy amber color. Aroma is medium malt-musty caramel, herbal-ginger. Taste is lots of medium malt/grainy-musty caramel, secondary spices/herbal-ginger, faint medium/dark fruit, smooth, malty, yeasty. Nice mouth feel. Soft carbonation works well.

Spiced Belgian style, very similiar to Unibroue. Excellent aroma, nice white creamy foam and carbation. Cloudy orange brown color. Yeast with noticeable pieces. Moderate malt and citrus orange peel, pear, hint bannana very pleasant fruit and herbs. Coriander (which may reduce fertility). Bonus for complexity. Good competition for wine.

"good looking beer...everlasting white fluffy head on a light amber cloudy beer. smell is a little more subdued than expected but quite pleasant. picking up more barleywineish carmel aspects than expected. flavor mellow but complex of fruit, yeast, spices, and a bit sweet. smooth finish. overall, not quite what i was expecting, but pretty good. i’d get it again. for $9 a bottle, though, it may be a while."

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Light beige head. Sweet, herbal, fruity and caramelly aroma. Flavour is flowery, caramelly, has alcoholnotes and fruitnotes. Is quite citric and acidic and quite grapish sour. Medium bodied. Nice balanced. Light bitter and sweet in the end. Good one. hopscotch (11101) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 27, 2007
Bottle... This beer rocks!... Hazy, deep amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Nutty, spicy nose with clove and smoke phenols. Citrus fruit hops; fuzzy fruit esters. Sweet, spicy flavor with blasts of coriander and caramel and a suggestion of hops without any real bitterness. Almost full-bodied with a sticky mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Lengthy, mildly sweet, warming finish. daknole (11049) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2008
Bottle from total wine. I like the Allagash family of beers, this one is no exception. Amber pour with a nose of spices, sweet citrus, and yeast. Flavor is very nice. Malty, fruity, spicy and some candy sugar/caramel. Nice!!
