4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This beer was enough to bring me out of hibernation, for the time being, at least. I enjoy wine, though I’m not a connoisseur, so this beer was wonderful to me. The appearance is innocent looking -- innocuous -- with a quickly dispersing head and a bright, inviting ruby-tan color. It’s kind of the color of tanned leather. The aroma has a lambic quality, with some cherry sourness and hints of the Syrah from the barrels used to age the beer. Very winey. The flavor is bright, but rich. It’s a little like a cross between a sauvingon blanc (bright, crisp, peary) or champagne and a merlot (oaky, rich, serious). There are still beer qualities, though, especially with the yeastiness that you don’t find as much in wine. The palate is crisp. The beer dances across the tongue like a bright white wine or champagne. There’s a little bit of pear and sauvingnon blanc in the palate, as well. It’s nicely balanced and lovely. Mmmmm.
Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Spicy pepper aroma with some Funky stone fruit. Sweet stone fruit and a long sweet candy peach finish. Light, sweet and some mellow tartness. Hint of pepper in there too. Interesting beer. ordybill (1815) - Douglasville, Georgia, USA - AUG 1, 2017
Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the World of Beer in Pooler, GA. The appearance is a clear reddish amber color white a small white head. The aroma is very close to a red wine. The taste is tart fruit an a red wine finish. frothysuds (14) - Texas, USA - JUN 20, 2017

Pours a rich copper from a tap. Big funky sour apple aroma and flavor, rather bretty, a little barnyard. Pretty good beer.

Kołor bursztynowy, zamglony. Piana lekka, zwiewna, niczym szczególnym nie wyróżnia się. W aromacie początkowo dzikie, funky z akcentami końskiej derki, skóry, siana, stajni, spoconego konia. Dalej przejrzałe owoce - najwięcej brzoskwiń i moreli.
Po kilku łykach pojawia się wyraźna winność. W smaku przede wszystkim owocowe, tylko subtelnie kwaśne i lekko dzikie. Po ogrzaniu dużo winnych posmaków. W dalekim tle detale w klimacie dżemu brzoskiwniowwgo. Alkohol rozgrzewa, średnie ciało. Średniak, niczym szczególnym nie wyróżniający się w tłumie.
Tap at Churchkey into a snifter showing hazy honey with sparse white foam.
The nose shows leafy eucalyptus or aloe.
The palate is lightly carbonated and fully bodied. Medium tart with the same leafy eucalyptus or aloe flavors with a light mint profile. Wow, this was very unpleasant.

2013 Vintage. Pours a rich copper amber hue with a finger of eggshell foam. Nose is a pleasant mix of composted fruit, vinous barrel funk and some soft belgian candy. Palate follows with notes of orange rind, papaya, wet oak, honeycomb, some earthy leather and complex fruit lingers with a bit of bitterness and tannins on the finish. 77ships (10455) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 7, 2016
Thank you Mathieu87 & PriorL! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ “Epic beer Tasting 2016”. Dark orange, little head. Nose is dull metallic orange, grainy, big sweetness. taste is sweet orange peel, bit metallic, candy, overly sweet, big sugar, improved a bit over time, got more orange peel, overall largely a big slab of sweetness. Body is fizzy & metallic. Another Allagash beer where I don’t entirely the love. Didn’t get the French oak & brett, brett is lost in the sweetness.
