Tap at Harrys Hofbrau in San Jose. Coffee grinds dominate aroma. Hazy golden-orange with moderate white head that lingers as a creamy ring. Taste is astringent coffee and bakers chocolate. Thinish mouthfeel.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a rich golden color with very little head and moderate lacing. Nose is coffee, surprisingly, because the beer is so light in color. The nose also has some very nice bourbon notes. Taste is very rich, coffee and bourbon. Great beer!

Pours hazy golden with a one finger head, This is a weird one but very good. Aroma of coffee, Belgian funk, and cracker malts. Taste is a really nice herbal saison with coffee notes. And the golden color is deceptive. Medium body, really tasty beer.

Slight haze to an amber pour. Small off white head. Little lacing. Aroma of coffee and yeast. Taste is a dry alcoholic yeasty coffee.

Draft Pours a slightly hazy orange golden color with a thick two finger foam. Nose is sweet belgian candi sugar, coconut some rustic grain and fresh coffee beans. Palate follows with a mix of sweet tripel notes, soft coffee adds a earthy layer and also quite a bit of complexity but not sure Im quite excited about this final product. Interesting to try just a bit weird and different for me to enjoy it for anything more than a fun exbeeriment. Paired with the right dish I could see this working better just not sure what that dish is...

Pours a hazy yellow-gold with white head. Has a faint aroma of bourbon, wheat, yeast and hits of coffee. A mix of flavors including citrus, wheat, yeast, spices, a dark alcohol flavor and a hint of coffee at the end - but not overwhelming. Unimpressed with the beer and not as strong as I expected.

Coffee beer, not so interesting but unobjectionable. Dark, a decent cold brewed coffee. On tap at Griffon two.

On tap at The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT, this was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a bar pours kind of slim little head, quickly dissipates and leaves barely any lacing. The smell started off with boozy bourbon sweetness running into the normal qualities of a Tripel or in this case Curieux and then as it warms, the coffee comes out nice and sweet. The differences of the sweet coffee (cold pressing) to the tripel qualities of iced apples and sweet breadiness really come together well and make it a really nice aroma. The taste was moderately sweet through the Curieux qualities. Bourbon sits back a bit more in the flavor and gives off a slight sweet blend in the aftertaste. Semi-sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice semi-smooth feel to it. I think that cold pressed coffee was a great idea as it really felt great all around. Overall, well, there ya go, Allagash taking an already stellar beer to the next level. Of course, Id have this again.
