My Bottom Line:ruggedman (647) - Portland, Maine, USA - JUL 16, 2009
This stupendous Wild Ale’s pineapples and pine needles thrive in a marvelously classy and effervescent mouthfeel, as oaken wine barrel notes and hushed tartness develop nuance and complexity.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the amber-hued golden.
-The clausenii’s tropical fruitiness goes all the way from pineapple to marinated ginger in the aroma.
-The bubbles are tiny, but they sure are feisty.
-Even though this is quite strong abv-wise, this cousin of Interlude is superbly drinkable.
On tap at the brewpub.
On tap at Novare Res. Pours a golden haze with a foamy white head. Aroma is sour and fruity. Hints of some spices in there too. Flavor is fantastic, a nice sour punch in the mouth and a hint of lingering sweetness on the tongue. Super smooth on the tongue with a nice mouthfeel. Overall an extremely surprising and extremely fantastic beer. Jblauvs (1358) - Chester, Vermont, USA - AUG 22, 2011
Dark Golden pour at Ebenezer’s Night of the Great Thirst 2011
Aroma is tangy brett, leather, some light horsiness. Flavor is ultra dry, very bretty, light bread maltiness is overwhelmed by the rustic brett, bone dry finish. A brettanomyces bomb for sure. Yum oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - AUG 22, 2011
Golden pour with a medium sized off white head. The nose holds tons of bretty funk, earth, cheesecloth, and hints of grapefruit. The flavor follows with an absolute onslaught of brett infected golden goodness, with incarnations ranging from earthy to cheesy, to funky. Palate is medium bodied with fine bubbled carbonation and a super dry finish. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - JUL 24, 2012
On tap at EBF. Allagash has sours down to a science! Good balance of tartness, sour funk and sweetness. Could drink pretty much all day, every day.

Night of the Funk 2012. Hazy golden color, large white head. Aroma of sour grapefruit. Taste is softly sour summer fruit, straw, dust, funk. Very nice. thenick (766) - North Bellmore, New York, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Sample @ BBF Night of the Funk. Pours a hazy golden color with a white head. Nose is light fruit (citrus? pineapple) and a bit of musty funk thrown in for good measure. Taste is fairly the same, with a bit of clove and banana thrown in, and the oak tempers the funk at the end of the beer. It was very, very solid. Lukaduke (3206) - Gray, Maine, USA - NOV 29, 2015
Found notes from Night of the Funk 2012. Tropical brett, caramel, spicy wood, vinous acidity, pineapple. j12601 (12000) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - FEB 6, 2012
Pouring at the Night of the Barrels on the Friday night of EBF 2012. Pours a lightly hazed golden amber with a thin white head. Big funk, light acid, brett. Musky and funky, sour with a touch of acetone. Warm toast, acid and funk. Long acid, sour and nutty acetone. pushkinwow (2791) - Ottawa, CANADA - FEB 10, 2012
Night of the Barrels at EBF. Hazy vibrant amber with a decent off white head considering it was poured into a sample glass. Dry, bit of grass, grapefruit and brett, got some chardonnay notes and no hint really of alcohol. Decent carbonation and body, definitely sour but not overly so. Quite drinkable.
