COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Allagash Saison is our interpretation of a classic Belgian farmhouse style. It is a golden hued beer, brewed with a 2-Row blend, malted rye, oats and dark Belgian candi sugar. It was hopped with Tettnang, Bravo and Cascade hops. Fermented with a traditional saison yeast strain, this beer exhibits notes of spice and tropical fruit in the aroma. Citrus and a peppery spice dominate the flavor and make way for a pleasant malt character. Saison is full bodied with a remarkably dry finish.

Yeast and floral in the smell. The taste is sweet and floral. Light bitterness that fills the upper part of the mouth to a weak moment. Okay beer. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Bottle thanks to wombat23. Pours pale yellow with a haze. Tall, foamy white head that fades to a thin layer. Aroma is yeasty, lemony, with a bit of clove. Taste is mildly sweet at the outset with candied sugar notes, but turning increasingly bitter and even tart at the finish. A nice range of flavor, even if not exactly captivating. Dry with a prickly carbonation. Overall, nice.

Enjoyable beer, better than my score indicates. Pretty dead-on within the saison comfort zone, hitting all the right farmhouse notes--grassy meadow malts, subtle sweetness, clove with hints of citrus and vanilla, yeasty backbone--without any drastic stylistic departures to make it a standout. But that's okay; sometimes it's good to make a really basic, readily identifiable, unmistakably well-done version of a classic style. Too bad it's not a looker; comes out a pretty straw yellow, but lacks head or lace. Nose is underwhelming as well, faint wheat and yeast with the slightest hint of funk. Good boisterous saison texture, though, and grows increasingly drinkable as it warms. Not bad.

Surprised I’ve never had this beer before. Very pleasant, drier than average saison with a nice amount of spice and lemon character. Perfect with pizza. Tried at Pequods in Chicago in 2017 during ASEH with the Jayhawks crew.
