UPDATED: FEB 5, 2009 Batch 114. Pours with a large, off-white creamy head and a murky yellow body. Aroma of orange zest, honey, yeast and spice. Taste is sweet, spicy, and a bit of candied orange peel. Sharp bubbles and a dryish mouthfeel.
Notes from Batch 46 (1998 Bottle consumed in Feb. 2009): Hazy golden color with a generous white head. Aroma is sweet and bready. Notes of raisins and sherry covering up light spice. Hint of cardboard oxidation. Smells like a sherry dosed plain original donut. Taste is bready, sweet with notes of sherry. Mouthfeel is starting to show a little bit of thinning, but it is still pleasant. Light carbonation.
Apparence : Dorée, peu trouble, gros col blanc, bonne rétention et laissant une belle dentelle. Carbonatation active. AMareng4 (1) - - SEP 9, 2017 does not count
Nez : Malt, coriandre, agrumes, léger miel, léger alcool, notes de poire après la vague plus phénolique.
Goût : Malt, coriandre, poire et agrumes dans une entrée fruitée et épicée. Amertume moyenne en finale avec les mêmes notes qui nous tiennent. Palais mi sucrée, mais finale bien sèche.
Sensation : Effervescence étonnamment douce, corps moyen, semi-huileuse, belle longueur.
Bref : Une Tripel qui touche toutes les notes de malt, de fruits, d’épices et d’alcool dans un liquide qui se laisse facilement boire. À la fois sucrée et sèche, il est indéniable que cette bière est bien réalisée.
Best tripel. Like the fruity tones instead of spices of others. Best of the best

Backlog, bottle in 09 with Sean and Patrick. Pours a hazy golden with 2 finger foamy white head. Notes are piney hops, delicate florals, plum, fig, grain, and spices. Some honey and dough in the smell as the beer warms. Medium bodied. Good one to split a few ways. jelly_prince-_- (1) - - AUG 13, 2017 does not count
It's fresh and almost whiney. You could taste the fruitiness but it still tastes like a beer. It hits fresh and has a aftertaste that is like a wave ...it comes and then it leaves. Smooth...Overall I recommend to get this beer again. The buzz is really fun. Just enough for a good time. Wouldn't drink this too fast since it did give me a buzz.

Labeled tripel ale on bottle, NYC Mia's midtown. Pours hazy light golden. Little nice head that stays. Citrus aroma, yeast, belgianesque. Really refreshing scent. First sip refreshing, tasty, not overly powerful. Clean palate but taste buds awakened. Crazy drinkable for a 9%. Catches up to you...it's a creeper...well done.

12 oz. bottle, consumed on 5-21-17. “07/07/16,” presumably a bottled on date. Labeled as “Allagash Tripel Ale.” Pours an effervescent, medium to dark gold with a moderate amount of thin, short-lasting beige head. The shade and effervescence of the liquid is good, but the head is subpar in the initial pour. Final pour is hazier, darker, and duller, but the head is larger, creamier, more substantial, and longer lasting, and I bump the appearance to a 4. Pleasant, juicy, honeyed aroma. Scents of apple juice and Chardonnay. Buttery smell, not in a diacetyl way, but in an oaked white wine way. Quite sweet flavor with a dry finish. Honey and generic light-colored fruit juice. Melon and bitter orange peel. A touch of dust. Not sickly sweet but juicy-sweet in taste, but sweeter than I would prefer nonetheless. Hits the mark for a tripel, although it doesn’t seem to be particularly complex for the style, and it’s on the dull side. Medium to full body. A bit frothy and smooth but mostly forgettable (but not bad) palate effects. Easy to drink. Pleasant beer, well-made, doesn’t stray far from the Belgian model, but it does little for me. tapefuzz (813) - Massachusetts, USA - JUN 2, 2017
12oz bottle. Pours a lightly cloudy yellow-gold with a small, quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is banana, clove, bread, yeast, subtle citrus, and herbs. Taste is bubblegum, honey, clove, banana, spice, light citrusy fruitiness, grass, yeast, and a little bit of cereal. Long yeasty finish with a good amount of alcohol. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is a bit funky, but has some subtle apricot and nutmeg notes. Flavor is crisp bitter-sweet. Normally, this much residual sweetness would ruin a beer, but here it seems perfectly balanced. Some other aromatic notes come through in the finish: honey, ginger, parsley. Thick, velvety mouthfeel. Pretty darn good.
