Nose and palate have some nice fruity grape, musty farm berry and grain, funk, wet oak, vinous notes, medium tartness, slightly less rounded than some other old Allagashs, nice acididty and dry. Pours a purple rusty color with a touch of haze and a trace of tight white foam. Tons of herbaceous cabernet franc mingles with tart clean funk and layers of barrel complexity. Gripping tannins, grape skins, fleshy grape, dialed in acidity and a basement of funky flavors. 375 ml bottle via trade with goryskewych- thanks again, George! Pours a semi-cloudy orange-gold with a minimal head. Aroma of oak, lemon, grass, herbs, grapes, dusty funk, and leather. Flavor of apple, grape, spices, herbs, oak, and dry, musty, dusty funk. A little leather, too. Light-medium bodied, with a dry, tart, funky mouthfeel and low, gentle carbonation. Notes from two separate bottles.
Hazy deep golden pour. Aroma is oaky, tart white wine with spicy yeast, sour wood, leather, funky must, over ripe nectar fruit. Creamy and supple in the mouth, with a dry acidic finish. Intensely flavored, funky, vinous, and boozy. Loads of leathery, musty funkiness complimented by vinous, spicy richness and creamy vanilla barrel. Pours a fairly clear golden amber color with a decent white head that shows some retention. Smells of tart cherries, lemons, caramel, very vinous with a solid dose of tart and funk. The flavor follows the aroma quite well. A solid hit of sour fruits up front, lemons and cherries mostly, and a solid hit of grape skins. A bit of funk with some vanilla and caramel round out the flavor quite nicely. Medium to light body with a spirited level of carbonation and crisp bubbly mouthfeel. I like this beer a lot, too bad its nearly impossible to get again.

Clear medium amber orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, berry, tart, wood, aceton notes, barnyard - leather notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate acidic with a long duration, tart, dry, grapes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
