Tap at Gingerman. Pours yellow with fluffy white head. Nose of vanilla and yeast. Tastes of cloves, vanilla, citrus, pepper, nutmeg, and dough. Lively and spicy and a fun triple. Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Aroma of lemon, pineapple, pear and capers. Pours light blonde with a fizzy head. Tastes like a yeasty pina colada. Pinapple, cocoanut and sourdough shine through. Very pleasant. Jblauvs (1358) - Chester, Vermont, USA - JAN 5, 2013
On tap at the Alehouse
Aroma is bursting with ripened pear, fruity yeast, spice bread, and apricot. Smooth with low carbonation, but lively enough. Sweet upfront with more overripe fruit and crackery malt. A bit of yeastiness in the middle lends it some complexity. Finishes dry, with only a hint of booze. Really nice Tripel from Allagash. ineedbeer (2203) - Oakland, California, USA - JAN 4, 2013
On tap at the Trappist.
Aroma has tons of spicy phenols. Lots of clove, coriander and grains of paradise. Some sweet malt notes. Light fruity esters - some citrus and pear and a hint of banana.
Pours a nice pale, cloudy golden yellow with a moderately thick white head that steadily recedes. Decent lacing.
Flavor has a nice grainy flavor with some cracker malt as well. Moderate to low phenolic notes, but lots of esters. Lot of fruitiness - peaches, dried apricots, some banana and juicy fruit notes. Moderately low bitterness. Low alcohol flavor and light fruity hop notes. Fairly sweet malt notes - sugary.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Very low astringency. Moderate to moderately high alcohol warmth.
Overall pretty good. The ester notes are slightly different than expected and kind of enjoyable. The alcohol warmth is a bit strong.

I havent been drinking many trip’s in the last couple years but this one was decent if you take away the excessive heat. bb (9621) - Alamo, California, USA - JAN 3, 2013
