A half at The Northumberland Arms, Felton. Dark, almost black, though admittedly hard to tell in the subtle lighting in the pub! Not a big aroma, taste is of a slightly sweet porter, mild chocolate and latte. Smooth, velvety, though the body is a bit thin. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Rheged. Appearance - opaque black with a generous off white head. Loads of small bubbles and it disappears quite quickly. Nose - dark chocolate digestives. Light smoke too. Taste - more dark chocolate and some charcoal and smoke again. Palate - close to medium bodied. Creamy yet crunchy middle section. Dry smoky finish. Overall - enjoyable.

Mørkebrun øl med flot og holdbart skum. Let ristet duft med en del chokolade. Let ristet og let røget smag. En del karamelmalt og medium lang og kraftig bitterhed. Medium fylde og ret kraftig kulsyre. Ok men for karboneret.

Bottle at home. Poured a clear dark brown, no head. Aromas are sugared espresso, very mild roast, chocolate, cacao. Mild taste, medium bitter, watery, bubbly. But looks like low carbonation. Ok

Flöska. Deeep dark brown mahogni colour, small light brown head. Pleasant aroma of dark chocolate united with a nice roasted maltiness along with toffee, some wood and (dark) fruit. Thin like mouthfeel. Flavour has a nice balance between roasted malt and chocolate with a good hoppiness along with wood, dark fruit, toffee and a bit of vanilla. Soft and smooth. A very pleasant nice 8 proof soft pleasant English porter indeed it is. My very first Allendale brew but not the last to be.
