330 ml bottle bought at Great Food Hall in Pacific Place, Admiralty.

Looks: Cloudy hazy golden honey colour with fine misty yeast; Near zero head with residual soapy white foam which fades in 5 seconds; Fair sticky lacing and very slight carbonation.

Aroma: Fragrant Ale malt, with intense passion fruits, mango, papaya, white grapes, berries, honey, floral, sugar, and lemon. Wow!

Taste: Medium sweet Ale malt, with passion fruits, papaya, light mangoes, shades of grapes, light floral, molasses, spices, light biscuits, lemon, quite strong bitter hops and strong grass.

Body: Close to light body. Thin but quite slick palate.

Mouth Feel: Fairly good Ale maltyness in a wheat-thinned background. Strong influence of Nelson Sauvin all the way with passion fruits, papaya, mangoes, berries, spices and quite potent bitterness. Nice middle sweetness, light biscuit and good lemon to round. Refreshing and nice!

Hoppiness: Strong passion fruits, mango, papaya, white grapes, berries, honey, floral, and lemon in nose. Taste is pretty much the same with spices and strong grass; Bitterness is strong for a lasting, very high astringent sweet-fruity finish.

After Taste: Quite dry. Very tropical fruity and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This may not be the usual Saison, but the infusion of massive Nelson Sauvin makes a refreshing olfactory and taste experience. I really dig the passion fruits and white grapes from start to finish, and that strong astringent hoppiness rounds things up nicely. Nevermind the poor looks, this is highly enjoyable!

Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, light creamy sweetness. A resinous tropical fruit thing. Mild spice. Touch of skunk. Light semi dry finish. Not exactly bursting with Nelson goodness but it’s fine.

Bottle. This is horrifically bad. Nose is stale yeast, brown sugar, Greek honey, hint of orange. Taste is pine, honey, stake cardboard, lime hint of lemon. This is not a saison and the yeast they have used is vile. At times the very low standards of many craft brewers in the UK is maddening, but this is particularly contemptible trash. It’s off style, unbalanced and unpleasant tasting. British brewing would be better off without crap like this.

A really good blend of APA flavours with a classic saison. Tropical fruit, citrus zest, slightly yeasty, classic saison spice. Light body. Fine carbonation. Really nice.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a foamy white head. Grapes, gooseberries, lemon and a hint of spice in the aroma. Slightly soapy taste with notes of grapefruit, grapes, spice and lemon. Refreshing, although it might get a bit sickly after a while.

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This hazy golden-yellow beer pours with a huge head of foam. It has lemon and earthy notes with floral hops and a spicy bitter-sweet finish. Very nice!
