Cask (Tilley’s, Newcastle) - Dark brown with orangey red tinges. Chocolate, roasted malt and a hint of toffee in the aroma. Roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and almonds can be detected in the taste. AshtonMcCobb (6616) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 30, 2014
On cask at the Guildford.
Appearance - not actually black but more of a toffee brown. Thin fawn head.
Nose - hazelnuts and toffee.
Taste - loads more nuts bit now getting into milk chocolate.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long elegant finish.
Overall - I think this actually sits in between a porter and a brown ale. mr_h (5572) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - MAY 16, 2014

Cask at The George & Dragon, Garrigill, Cumbria. Clear dark brown to black porter with a lovely light roast aroma, but its the hoppy flavour that really makes this beer. Clean, tasty, eminently drinkable, beautifully balanced and a lovely finish that just leaves you wanting more, so I did....... cgarvieuk (24548) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 13, 2013
