Hey look, an old rating from RBSG 2014 that I hadn’t entered yet, oh happy day.RobertDale (6847) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JUL 11, 2014
Pours a dark brown without much of a head.
The aroma is nutty and chocolaty with some molasses and a weird sorta herbal note.
The flavor is a little cardboardy with some more of that herbal character going on. It’s really pleasantly hoppy with a nice fruitiness and a good chocolate forward roasty malt thing going on.
Sampled at SRBG 2014. Thanks Canada! Pours dark brown with a nice light tan head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, berries, wood, and smoke. Nice. phaleslu (10652) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 29, 2014
Bottle shared by our friends from the Great North at the RBSG meet and greet at UCBC-Midtown. Pours a brown color, semi-cloudy, with a small beige head. Notes of tobacco, toast, earth, honey, faint smoke, a hint of fruit, and dark chocolate. Light-bodied, with low carbonation and an earthy mouthfeel. Drinks just a little washed out, like maybe it’s a bit old. But I don’t think that’s the case. That said, I’d drink it now if you have one. jtclockwork (17264) - , New Jersey, USA - JUN 24, 2014
Bottle at RBSG St. Louis meet and greet. Pours brown with brown head. Nose/taste of wood smoke, cocoa, light honey, toasted chocolate. Medium body. Strykzone (7624) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 19, 2014
Sampled at RBSG. Dark amber in color and clear. A nice creamy beige head. I smell a little bitbof woody notes but something organic, too. Sticks and thistles. Soft hops. A lot of subtleties here make it enjoyable to drink and fun, too.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2014 Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted smoked malt and dark fruit aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted dark sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

22oz bottle, shared by alexsdad06. Collabrewation, hahaha, oh canada.. Very dark brown red color, near black. Light comes through around the edges; not opaque. Thin khaki head, some splotches and dots of lace. Some wood smoke in the nose, dark fruit. Good moderate roast in the flavor, moderate bitterness, light sweet. Smooth, lightly soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Man, even the wood is NZ? Nice touch. Medium to bigger body. Bigger flavor for the lighter 5.6% ABV. Better than expected, this porter was. alexsdad06 (10778) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - FEB 12, 2014
22 oz bottle shared with the group via kbudd19. Pours a clear brown color with a small off white head. The aroma has some smoke, berries, a sweet note and some earth. If there is roasted malt I am missing it. The flavor is nothing like the nose. I get an herbal tea character, some honey and a hint of tobacco. Dry. This is strange, but has quite a bit of character. gramity (1684) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 25, 2014
Pours a clear dark brown with a fluffy light brown head that leaves lots of lace. Aroma of smoke, ash, tobacco, fruity esters and sweet honey. Taste is ashy cigarettes, cocoa, roasted malts, a nice dry finish and taste of the nelson hops really comes out on the finish. Excellent randomness porter.
