750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of caramel, peat smoke and light fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, peat smoke and light fruitiness with a smooth lingering peat smoke finish. cfrancis (3536) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 6, 2013
Thanks to Reimer for this. Pours a dirty brown with a small beige lacing. Aroma is caramel, smoke and small roasted malt. Taste is light bodied, dark caramel and roasted malts. Not bad. VertBaconStrips (2395) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - JAN 19, 2013
Ughnn. Smells waaaay too sweet to be enjoyed. Roasty toffee, brown sugar, tree bark, some fruit. Don’t like this taste and its straight up early harshness, light acidic finish. Burnt stuff, earth, way too much harshness. Toasty and acidic. This stinks. Cirrhosis (1283) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 19, 2013
Looks brown, limited cap. Stinks like burning rubber, some peat, sweet blue berry. Me no likey. Sweet apple like mild peat. Railway ties! I try not to dump on allykat but its hard not to. Banana? Still didn’t hate this. gramity (1680) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
Dark amber with long head retention. Aroma and taste are of malt and malt sweetness. Pretty good scotch ale.

Bottle, shared with my dad and my dad-in-law. Dark amber with bunt-orange highlights, dense cream coloured mattress. Mmmmm! Dark caramel, smoky, leathery, toasty, creamy...wow! This is by far the best Alley Kat brew I’ve had in a long time! Thank you Alley Kat! presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 9, 2012
Bottle. Mahogany with minimal head. Light aroma. Good body with enough malt to cradle the alcohol and very nice smoked peat flavour that lingers. thehead92 (33) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 6, 2012
Had this at the Yeast Wrangler meeting last night and was very much impressed with the overall taste and finish. many of the scotch ale’s start off tasting good but the finish is usually a little disappointing but this one was very good. patricks110 (2555) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 3, 2012
Holy crap what a great Scotch ale. The pour is a dark bright ruby red brown with a finger of dense beige head. Some light body carbonation and a bit of lacing. Just a gorgeous nose with bit earthy and woody aromas and big toffee, caramel and bready biscuit malts. Just beautiful nose. Sweet biscuity malts and toffee sweetness. Light bitterness on the finish with a grea tbalance throughout. Perfect malty sweetness and complexity. Overall, fantastic brew. andrewturba (1190) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 1, 2012
Pours a clear brown with big tan head slowly falling to a nice white ring. Aromas of caramel, roast malt, smokey. Flavours of roast malt, smoke, peety, toffee, a touch of booze and a dry finish.
