750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of caramel, peat smoke and light fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of caramel, peat smoke and light fruitiness with a smooth lingering peat smoke finish. DuffMan (10732) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 21, 2012
Bottle, shared with my dad and my dad-in-law. Dark amber with bunt-orange highlights, dense cream coloured mattress. Mmmmm! Dark caramel, smoky, leathery, toasty, creamy...wow! This is by far the best Alley Kat brew I’ve had in a long time! Thank you Alley Kat! reebtogi (6403) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 15, 2012
650ml bottle pours a dark amber color with a 2 finger off-white head that retains quite well and leaves some substantial lacing on the glass. Aroma is mild but pleasant with toasted grains and smoke. Taste is a little more pronounced with a bold malty sweetness and a herbal hoppy bitterness and a smoky finish that lingers a while. A nicely done scotch ale that is quite tasty and definitely worth sampling. presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 9, 2012
Bottle. Mahogany with minimal head. Light aroma. Good body with enough malt to cradle the alcohol and very nice smoked peat flavour that lingers. pintbypint (3882) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 18, 2012
650ml brown bottle. Pours orangey brown with a long lasting but small white head. Good lacing. Nose has caramel, chocolate and some light smoke. Taste has caramel, chocolate and some late smoke, also some late bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation. No sign of the 8% alcohol, pretty nice. A good winter seasonal.

Thanks to Reimer for this. Pours a dirty brown with a small beige lacing. Aroma is caramel, smoke and small roasted malt. Taste is light bodied, dark caramel and roasted malts. Not bad. patricks110 (2715) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 3, 2012
Holy crap what a great Scotch ale. The pour is a dark bright ruby red brown with a finger of dense beige head. Some light body carbonation and a bit of lacing. Just a gorgeous nose with bit earthy and woody aromas and big toffee, caramel and bready biscuit malts. Just beautiful nose. Sweet biscuity malts and toffee sweetness. Light bitterness on the finish with a grea tbalance throughout. Perfect malty sweetness and complexity. Overall, fantastic brew. VertBaconStrips (2408) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - JAN 19, 2013
Ughnn. Smells waaaay too sweet to be enjoyed. Roasty toffee, brown sugar, tree bark, some fruit. Don’t like this taste and its straight up early harshness, light acidic finish. Burnt stuff, earth, way too much harshness. Toasty and acidic. This stinks. Reimer96 (1778) - Alberta, CANADA - DEC 1, 2012
Pours a clear dark amber with a big off white head that leaves some nice lace. Aroma is caramel, toffee and some smoke. Taste is caramel sweetness upfront with some smoke and peat. The alcohol is hidden very well when drinking the beer between 5 to 10 degrees. As it warms up it becomes more and more present. Very nice scotch ale. gramity (1684) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
Dark amber with long head retention. Aroma and taste are of malt and malt sweetness. Pretty good scotch ale.
