3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rating #965 - February 10, 2014. Honoured to be the first rater of 2014’s first Dragon. $6.59 CAD for a 650mL Bomber from Coop. Pours a golden yellow, very light for a DIPA. Aroma is lemon, citrus, spicy herbal notes. Medium carbonation, medium alcohol warmth. Balance is superb, lots of cool bitterness but sharpened with the citrus zest and spicy hops. Great job, Dragon.
Pours a slightly hazy golden-amber with a large creamy dull white head and a good amount of lace. Aroma is lemony, dill, herbal and soft pale malts. Flavour is zesty, lemon, dill, spicy pepper, medium bitterness, and some pale malts. I’m really starting to get a liking for this hop and this beer displays it quite well. cfrancis (3574) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 18, 2014
Thanks to Reimer for this. Pours clear dark gold with a small white ring. Aroma is citrus, herbal and lemon hop bitterness with a small grain back. Taste is lemon and citrus astringency. Not overpowering, but well balanced with the straw grains DuffMan (10667) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 7, 2014
Bottle. Fairly light golden yellow with a frothy white head. Perfumey citrus hop profile, sweet pale malts, with a slightly medicinal bitter finish. Not the best Sorachi showcase, but a decent drinker. simonblaine (593) - Alberta, CANADA - APR 4, 2014
Pours light copper, medium head. Aroma is flowery, tropical fruit and citrus. Taste us the same. It's good.

Pours a clear golden yellow with a bit of orange and a typical white frothy and moussy white head. Aroma of lemon zest, citrus, pepper notes, herbal/medicinal notes and some soft caramel pale malts in the background. Taste is a great combination lemon zest, herbal hops, caramel, sweet pale malts and a nice sharp bitterness but never astringent. Medium carbonation and body with some alcohol warmth round this great dragon out.

pours golden straw with a thin white head. Aroma is citrusy, with some grassy notes, maybe even a little oaky. Taste is bitter right away, tastes of oranges, with a spicy back end, a little bit of a molasses flavour. Very bitter and dry, leaves a resin coating in your mouth. Quite good, crazy hoppy. 650ml bottle. Pours deep golden with minimal white head. Aromas are very subtle, but citrus, grassy, some woodiness, oak. Taste of grass, caramel, citrus then rolls into peppery notes. Quite bitter and quite dry leaving a long bitter finish. pintbypint (3834) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 13, 2014
650ml brown bottle. Golden colour with a regular looking white cap. Some floral hop notes with a bit of herb and spice and citrus. Taste has citrus zest and some spice. Finish is dry with some herb and spice and lemon, medium bitterness. Pretty good. thb (836) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 28, 2014
Clear golden yellow with not many bubbles. Thin film of white foam. Seems lighter in colour than others in the series (if i remember right). Aroma is lemon, and soap. Ricola-flavoured dish soap? Anyway it’s not at all unpleasant, just very different. The base beer seems less aggressive than previous versions - hard to believe changing the hop would have that much difference. Smooth, sweet finish. Alcohol hidden. MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 22, 2014
Alley Kat is local for me so I always love trying their new beers. The Dragon series is particularly great and this one is no exception. Strong hoppy aroma, I am drinking this straight out of the 650ml bottle like a bo$$. Not extremely bitter for 75 IBUs first off, tons of great lemon and floral hop notes in this one. Some great herb and spice flavors going on as well. Crisp and refreshing!
