Bottle to snifter (shared with the Cincy crew; thanks DuffMan). 2015 vintage, 20th Anniversary Edition. Looks solid; a transparent brown with thin off-white head that quickly dissipates into thin lacing. Smells bittersweet with notes of toffee and oak. Tastes like it smells with a medium full-bodied mouthfeel. Unbalanced, but may settle down with some age. a_sully (457) - - AUG 2, 2015
Deep red brown body with a tan head. Sweet aroma, with caramel notes. Taste is clean with rich fruit and caramel notes and a hint of toasted nuts.

The beer starts fresh but viscous. Easy to drink but deep and thick. Malt, dried fruits, intense. Viscous, smooth, sticky. Toffee, dried plums, moderate bitter, smooth and malt. Not too sweetish, but easy to drink. Nice but not as complex as it could be. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - APR 27, 2015
I’m not usually partial to this style, but this one is very nice. Very, very malty, and not boozy. MunBro (942) - St. Albert, Alberta, CANADA - APR 19, 2015
Not a Barley Wine fan but tried a small sample on tap. Sure it isn’t a bad beer, just not my style.

Pours a cloudy amber with a small white head. Nice amount of carbonation. Aroma of fruity malts and hops with some citrus, plum and a whiff of alcohol. Flavour is quite bitter, a little strong on the alcohol but not too much. Nice balance of hops and sweet fruit and has a mild port or brandy taste. A little milder than some barley wines, it’s quite nice. UXO (1896) - CANADA - MAR 2, 2015
Pours medium amber with a thin tan head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, spotty lacing. (3/5) Nose is brown sugar, dark boozy fruit, caramel and toffee, some bitter chocolate, earthy vinous notes. (6/10) Taste is moderate to strong sweet, moderate bitter. (6/10) Medium body tending to the watery, moderate carbonation, off-dry mildly bitter finish. (4/5)
Meh. I dunno, barleywines just continue not to do it for me. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about this one, but there’s something in the flavour that puts me off. (12/20) dfearnley (2285) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 18, 2014
Bottle to goblet thanks YEG_Willy
Cream, caramel, brown sugar, whiskey, rum, raisin, candied fruit, and apricot. Translucent amber, thin creamy and frothy head. Taste is caramel, hops, resin, and pine. Best Alberta beer I’ve ever had. RobertDale (6764) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle share at SRBG 2014. Pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, and malt. Taste is caramel, fruit, grain, and toffee. Nice. brokensail (16631) - Dublin, California, USA - JUN 23, 2014
Bottle @ Presidential Suite. Thanks to the Canadians. Copper colored beer with a small white head. Nice malty aroma of caramel, toast, and toffee. Light booze, plenty of brown sugar, and some vanilla. A lot of dark fruit, too. Good sweetness on the palate without it being overwhelming. Good mix of chocolate, dark fruit, and sweet sugar/malt. Nice toffee, caramel, and brown sugar. Mild earthy hops.
