Definitely got a bad bottle of this stuff... Interesting idea and became easier to sip on by the finish but overall just off. DuffMan (10665) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 12, 2013
(from backlog of RBAG 2013 ratings notes). Huge thanks to Sid for bringing me this despised and shunned whale!! Hazy copper orange. Aroma is crazy-- soapy plastic and something medicinal/herbal, I want to say juniper for some reason but that doesn’t seem correct (maybe because I find juniper appealing, and this was more off-putting). The palate is essentially scorched rubber and vinegar. Yeah, this is as bad as people have said, but I had to see for myself LOL! pintbypint (3831) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 22, 2013
Pretty sure someone opened this as a joke at RBAG 2013, but I ticked it because I missed grabbing a bottle before it got yanked off the shelves... Bottle sample. Gold with good foam on top. Nose has soft Sprite/soft drink notes, vague fruit, very mild tangy note. In the mouth the beer has leather, oak, plastic, band aids, cherry medicine. Faint wood in the finish. Overall, not good. Something went wrong. This long retired beer should be long forgotten. VertBaconStrips (2402) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - OCT 21, 2012
THIS. IS. HORRENDOUS. It’s a very dark burnt orange with a skiff of bubbles. The smell is smell. It’s a smell I’ve never smelled until now. It’s a weird woody soap kind of thing. After that I have no idea. Same with the taste. Obviously this went bad. Dry and yuck and sort of mildly sour. Vile. Another reason why I don’t buy these AK/Sherb novelty beer because they all suck. Thanks for the beer abortion, Brad. :I presario (4925) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 25, 2012
Bottle. Copper with almost no head. Aroma of sour cheery and smoked peat which is weird. Sour cherry and infected home brew. Glad the pulled this from retail shelves.

Tap @ MKT before they pulled it. Ever wondered what it would taste like if Buckley’s ventured into beer? I don’t anymore. I did not enjoy the Big Kahuna and would much rather they bring another well made beer for #1,000 and other milestones then brew oddities like this.

Draft - Cherry caught medicine with a bit of anise. Clear copper with a minimal head. Tastes like it smells, just not good. thb (836) - Alberta, CANADA - JUL 30, 2012
Dark red. No head. Aroma of cherries, sugar, cough syrup. Taste is...odd. Toast, almonds, cherry. Not very sour at all. Really odd. ardiesr (62) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 29, 2012
Really not a good sour. Only sour bugs used were lacto and they didn’t do much at all. Could have used a long sour mash or some more complex bugs for complexity or any sour presence at all. Slight tartness, but too much sweetness overpowers it. Torontoblue (85) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 22, 2012
Pours a bright dark amber, head dies down to a fine ring. Aroma of soured milk, germoline antiseptic cream, cherry, raspberry, malt (think Winalot biscuits), and as it warms up a quite dominant aroma of salty, ocean water, & tinned salmon appears; WTF??? Flavour is predominantly germoline (think Juniper, glass cleaning fluid) little bit of cherry and a hint of sourness. Mouthfeel is actually OK, with good carbonation leading to a bright, short & sweet palate clearing finish, but does leave a juniper/Germoline aftertaste which is not too pleasant. I really don’t know what style this beer is. The aroma & flavours are difficult to get over. and doesn’t make for a nice drinking experience. Will cellar the other 2 and come back in a few months time, hoping for a change.............for the better.
