Pours a fizzy pinky-orange with thin bubbly white head. Aromas of raspberry, decomposing hay. The beer is definitely tart, but I’d stop short of sour. The raspberry is there but not overpowering - I actually like the level of raspberry, (and it tastes like real raspberries). The beer behind it is barely there though, and without that it tastes like raspberry juice that’s gone off with some bubbles in it. I realize that may be to style, but it stops me from liking it as much as I’d like to. patricks110 (2502) - Alberta, CANADA - AUG 2, 2012
I appreciate that Alley Kat has the guts to try something like this, but it didn’t really work that well. Smells and tastes like lightly acetic water with raspeberries and sanitizing solution. The nose and flavor literally have a chlorine - esque flavor. Unpleasant. DuffMan (10451) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 30, 2012
Bottle, shared mostly with mu wife while out at the lake. Very very watery with genuine tart raspberry flavour, but little in the way of lacto sourness, lightly phenolic but little else to elevate it beyond a tart raspberry cooler-ish beverage. Of note, I didn’t get any of the funky gym socks or smoke that others found in this beer. Rather it seemed incredibly light and simple. presario (4916) - Stampede City, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 22, 2012
Bottle. Light red ginger ale appearance. Smells like raspberries and old socks. Kaleidoscope flavour of bleach fruit dirty socks and a hint of vinegar. reebtogi (6315) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 19, 2012
650ml bottle pours a pinkish amber color with a fast dissipating bubbly white head that leaves a few specks of lacing on the glass. Aroma is light raspberries with a hint of smoke. Taste is tart raspberries with an odd smokiness and not much else. Light bodied with some nice carbonation. A decent fruit beer with kind of an odd flavor, but still somewhat enjoyable.
