Cask at The Friendship, Fallowfield. Can’t really add to the commercial description above. Light on the palate for the style and a bittersweet finish. The orange notes were a pleasant surprise. Good winter beer.
On cask at Sheaf View, Sheffield - Dark brown body, thick tan head, that laced all the way to the end. The nose is what you would expect, of dark chocolate with a hint of coffee and a bit smokey. This stout has no real bitter bite, is slightly sweet and very smooth. For a Stout it is light in the mouth and leaves no filmy residue. Very nice. tommann (3751) - Dudley, West Midlands, ENGLAND - FEB 10, 2012
Cask at the Coach and Four, Wilmslow. Pours black with a large, off-white head. Aroma is bitter chocolate with a little roast. Taste has some roast to start and a bitter chocolate finish. planky84 (3259) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 24, 2012
On draught at the Piccadilly(??), Manchester. Brown pour with a reddish tint, beige head. Chocolate, coffee and raisin nose. Subtle chocolate angle, sweet malt approach. Nice. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 9, 2011
Cask Stillage at Fenton Manor Sports Complex, Stoke on Trent 22/10/2010
Fruit and roast aromas. Black rich on the palate and hoppy with a fruity orange flavour. A hint of dryness in a burnt roast finish.
