750 ml glass, $2 @ Binny’s. Poured in my straight shot Trumer glass. Deep golden color, but with some floating bits. Puffy head that leaves some lace as it dwindles. Solid pils smell, though a touch of oxidation and maybe phenol. Initial taste impression is kind of watery. No date on the bottle, but I’m guessing it’s gotten old on the shelf. Gotta go with the consensus here; it’s another imported pilsener, a style that does not travel well.

Bottle 50cl. @home, poured into a footed pilsner glass. Clear medium color, long lasting mid-size frothy white head, light lacing; shy aroma, malts, grain, vegetables; taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, grainy, hay; dry sweetbitter finish, some cardboard, metallic notes, medium body, oily texture; average pilsner.

I suppose you do not really expect a Kempten (Allgäu) Pils to be all that good. I was quite esurprised how well this beer went down. It is herbal it has an inkling of the right bitterness. A really decent Pils.

Earthy malt aroma
Grapefruit in the finish
Strong citrus flavour

Very citric pils so it’s refreshing.

Bottle. Light golden, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Light to moderate, malty- lightly grainy and lightly sweetish aroma, light - some grassy hoppyness. Body is light to medium, malty - grainy and dryish flavor, light grassy hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - grainy and dryish, light sharp metal, some light - grassy/herbal hoppyness. OK decently hopped dryish pils (with notes of metal).

two 500ml bottles from Beers of Europe, shared with the wife in the sun on the patio, 17th June 2014. A bit disappointed with this to be honest: looked fine, the usual clear, bright and clean gold you come to expect from a German Pilsner, same white crown that doesn’t hang around too. I found it odourless and bland, some light maltiness but otherwise a boring example of the style: expected more from such a well known brewery.

Bosbouw (3007) - Gemonde, NETHERLANDS - MAR 25, 2014
Heldere goudgele kleur met een goede kraag. Ruikt hop, mout, beetje muf en mest. Smaakt bitterzoet. Iets hoppig.

Beerhunter111 (22513) - P´Castle, GERMANY - FEB 15, 2014
Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit durchschnittler Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig herb, grasig, getreidig. Geschmack herb, grasig, minimaler würziger Abgang.
