Deep black in color... Aroma of sweet chocolate... Flavor is more thin than you'd expect, more roasted malt than chocolate... Hints of coffee bitterness on the finish... Pretty good

Tastes like chocolate soda served alongside roasted chocolate crackers topped with dark chocolate cocoa nibs. Leighton (22054) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2013
Bottle at Charlie’s place in Encinitas. Pours clear brown with a creamy beige head. Ashy roast aroma. Light sweet flavor with further ash, chalky cocoa, earth, tobacco and dirty leaves. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry, burnt malt finish with charred leaves, tobacco, bitter baking cocoa and dirt. So so. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - DEC 9, 2013
On tap at Church Key in SF last week. Nice roasty malts and darker cocoa powder smell on the aroma. Flavors bring out a nice sweeter chocolate up front, while the mid-palate has a bit of vanilla tastes going on. The heartier flavors come out towards the finish with a nice burnt toast roast and burnt chocolate. Really enjoyed this. Let it warm up for sure!

12 oz. Bottle from world beers. Pours black with a light tan head. Strong, sweet chocolaty aroma. Taste is even more chocolaty with some black cherry finish. Tasty brew. DiarmaidBHK (5703) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2013
Bottle from Pizza Port bottle shop. Pours black with a half inch of khaki foam. Leaves a lot of lacing in the glass. Has some dark chocolate on the nose. The taste has this chalky bitterness that is off putting when paired with chocolate. Not feeling this one. hallinghansen (3410) - Odense SV, DENMARK - NOV 30, 2013
