77ships (10770) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 15, 2014
THANKS! More than half of a 355 ml. bottle. Bottle is gorgeous as with all Almanac beers. Dark brown, creamy mocha head. Sweet cocoa butter (or at least how I imagine cocoa butter tastes like), sweet sugar, chocolate syrup, exotic sugar,… Taste is pretty much liquid cocoa butter (same comment), exotic sugar, chocolate syrup, cacao beans, creamy mocha, light bitterness in the back, tastes more like actual cacao beans / etc. than extracts or artificial stuff. Body is a bit lighter than I would have preferred. Really reminds me of ST Choklat, bit lighter than I prefer for this kinds of beers to be but very lovely all the same. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Amazingly unusual chocolate porter. Chocolate through and through, in aroma, taste, and "linger." But is not a chocolate bomb or a liquid candy bar! The base porter is ever present and adds a complexity and roastiness to the beer. Recommended!

Dark with no head. Smells like dark chocolate. Taste like cold cocoa with a little coffee. An alcoholic mocha. Leaves a little bitter coffee/chocolate residue.

On draft at Tap 25 in Livermore and enjoyed in the company of Livermore spokesman, ratebeer’s own, joeneugs. It pours deep chocolate darkness with a tan head of foam. The aroma is full of chocolate and coffee and fully roasty malts. The taste delivers a firm chocolate to dark chocolate goodness and rolling toward dark roasted malts and dark roasted coffee. Damn tasty stuff.

Delicious chocolate stout, I’m biased towards these stouts and this was late in the tasting game, but I thought it was absolutely fantastic. bhensonb (15609) - Woodland, California, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours dark, dark brown with a 3 finger creamy tan head. Aroma is very chocolate. Med + body. Flavor is dark bitter chocolate that relaxes a bit on darkness. Then it seems coffee comes out. Firm flavors. Finishing tasty and bitter.
