COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The first in our new Barrel Noir Series, Cold Brew Coffee Barrel Noir combines three of our favorite things: coffee, bourbon and beer. We started by aging an imperial stout in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels for 18 months, allowing it to mature and develop bourbon notes and oak’s natural vanilla aromas. Next, we steeped the beer with vanilla beans and Sightglass Coffee’s Banner and Finca beans to create a “cold brewed” coffee stout. The result is a rich and velvety coffee bomb. Pair with french toast, brisket, or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

TimE (6076) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUL 30, 2017
Very dark dark brown. Sweet nose with molasses, dark chocolate, coffee and bourbon. Everything is perfectly balanced but as expected slightly sweet but the barrel really rounds things. Never cloying or too sweet. Superbly put together, bourbon is just right. Lingering

On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill in Burlington, Vermont. Pours nearly opaque black-brown with brown highlights and a small tan head and some lacing. Aroma: espresso, molasses, coconut, smoke. Flavor: the above with vanilla, bourbon. Mouthfeel: full-bodied, rich, oily, lingering slick bitter-sweetness along with a mellow booze burn.

Stoned99 (1650) - St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 3, 2017
12 ounces on tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill. Aroma: vanilla, maple syrup, chocolate, green pepper, oak. App: pitch black, small to no head, no lacing. Taste and palate: medium body, soft carbonation, some dark red fruits in mouth, acidity finish. Overall : not too sure I like the acidity. Feels like this is infected. Aroma isn’t bad. It’s good in fact but in general its far from what I expected. Wonder how come this beer is rated that high. 4.15 for this beer? Really? My first deception from Almanac.
