375ml bottle. Tart current aroma with notes of funk, oak and vinous red wine. Pours cloudy reddish-amber colored with a thin off white head that has little retention or lacing. Starts with tart currant and funk flavors as well as a lively mouthfeel. Finishes dry and quite tart with oak and vinous red wine flavors that linger on the palate with the currant. Pretty good sour. nickd717 (4889) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 22, 2017
So many beers, so hard to keep currant! Crimson bottle pour with a small head. Aroma is big fruit and funk. Lots of sour currant notes. Flavor is puckering and dry with currant, berry, lactic notes. Medium body, crisp, biting. Solid! slowrunner77 (12895) - Reno, Nevada, USA - NOV 17, 2017
Purplish red color with no head. Doesn't feel flat but look it. Sourdough nose is more aggressive than the currant, which is lighter than hoped. A decent one, but subpar IMHO for Almanac. williamstome (1993) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 5, 2017
Pinkish orange pour, small white head. Tart currant and raspberry aroma. Taste follows, quite tart. Dogbrick (13789) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 1, 2017
Sample at Beer Meets Wood on 09/23/2017. Hazy reddish-mahogany color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of currant jam, yeast and biscuit malt. The finish is moderately sour with a blackcurrant aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Hazy rosey copper hue under a thin rocky white cap. Brisk barrel funky crisp sourness on the nose with tones of currant and dark cherry and slight wine nuances. Brisk flavorful woody funky flavor with light sourness and lovely cherry and currant and plum tones. Complex and tart and woody and wild. Incredible. bytemesis (9240) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - OCT 15, 2017
Bottle. Pours very hazy dark magenta-pink, small white bubbly head, dissipates quickly with some lacing. Aroma is a bit light, berries, oak, funk, tart berries. Flavor is medium tart and lightly funky. Medium body, low carbonation. Lacking the pop I have come to expect from Almanac. MetalNHopHead (2191) - Lincoln, Nebraska, USA - OCT 14, 2017
As ever, Almanac shows they make some of the most beautiful Sours on the West Coast... and in the world. Dogpatch Currant pours pink-purple with haze and head that dissolves rapidly. It's practically teeming with bacterial acid. Aroma reveals that bright acidity. Cranberry, citrus, and vinous green grape. Juicy and tart flavors. Cherry, grape, currant, blood orange, pink grapefruit - vibrant. Faintly candy-like. Feel is dry and fizzy. There's a superb balance between sweet/tart. A palate cleanser, for sure. This a fruited Sour with nuance and class to spare. marcus (10684) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 12, 2017
Bottle from Cap Tap. Pours reddish brown with an attractive pink/beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a fairly sour dark malt flavor with some tasty currant and a tart finish. Very tasty. Thisis12ptfont (1221) - Los Angeles, CA, California, USA - OCT 3, 2017
Aromas of black cherries, raspberries, tart grapes, dark fruits, rice vinegar, black currants, figs, brett yeast, yeast funk, dark malts and plum funk. Pours a cloudy crimson with a very thin white foam. Taste brings absurdly tart blackberries, black cherries, plums, figs, raisins, apricots and barrel qualities. Finishes very tart with rice vinegar, high acidity, yeast funk, vanilla, slight orange peel, tart black cherries and some aged malts. Overall, a very fun and interesting take on Dogpatch Sour. Just a great pucker to the lips. Well rounded and deeply flavored.
