Saison aged in wine barrels with plums, Cabernet, concord, and muscat grapes. Our first California Wild Ale is brewed with a blend of Cabernet and Muscat grapes from Alfieri Farms, Concord grapes from Hamada Farms, and plums from Twin Girls Farm – all located in the fertile San Joaquin valley. Aged for over a year in used wine barrels, this sour ale blends rich flavors of the 2011 Autumn harvest with farmhouse funk. Enjoy with aromatic Taleggio cheese and rich duck confit.

375 ml bottle from bytemesis- thanks again! Pours a clear gold with a small off-white head. Aroma of grapes, oak, vanilla, and apple- sweet and tart. Flavor of red and white wine grapes, apples, and sweet malts. Medium-bodied, with moderate to medium carbonation and a tart mouthfeel. Good sour ale.

12.7oz, thanks to phaleslu for sharing. Clear orange golden color. Thin white head. Some loose dots and short ropes of lace. Bigger body. Smooth, lighter, soft carbonation. More dry finish. Nice light raspberry funk, some big oak, nice light funky cream. Awesome tart, lightly dry, aromatic sour ale.

375ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of grapes, some light oak, more grapes and wine, some tartness/sourness, light malts, and a little bit of spiciness. Flavor the same with a nice blend of the grapes and wine and oak and sour beer. Average texture. A good sour.

Bottle. A great, balanced sour. Wish I had case or two to sample over the next few years.

Green apple, kiwi, plum, grape and hint of black pepper and lemon zest open. There are moments of wood and bread smoothness, but ultimately, the astringent tartness and acetic acid sharpness wrestles the palate to a dry and puckering finish. Full, yet at he same time light. The moderate carbonation supports the tart palate. Coating syrupy linger adds to feel. A very nice sour that thins the line between beer and wine. The bright and crisp fruit pairs well with the tart, acetic bite producing a much enjoyed ale that I hope to try again some time soon.

Pours hazy redish yellow, no head. Nose is of stale beer, not much else. Sour, grape juice , grapefruit, some yeast and Brett. A solid beer, but expected more after having 3 and 4 first.
