Bottle courtesy of Adam (burg). Thanks man. Pours a hazy murky orange creme body with light fizzy white lacing. Aroma at first seems fecal, but then turns straight to 5 year aged Gouda - super cheesy. Mouthfeel is medium to light with notes of tart fruit, cheese, light sour funk. Thanks, Chris! Really nice tartness to the background. Good grape and light oak. Very light body. Plum quite faint. Mild tannin. popery (2170) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Pours medium amber, a glowy brown-ish orange. Somewhat cloudy. The head is small to medium and slightly yellowed white. Fine foam. Most of the head dissipates after a minute, but there’s a nice blanket left over. Some lacing. The aroma has a very nice fruit flavor, and you can really pick out the grape varieties and plums. It’s juicy and sweet with a refined, musty fruit skin edge. The wine barrel adds a deeper fruit and oak flavor. Quite a nice combination. My only complaint is that there seems to be a touch of butter in there, though that will probably fade away with time and I seem to be more sensitive than most about such things. The taste starts with that sweet, juicy fruit (and the touch of butter) before it gets tarter and oakier. The finish is dry and packs a good tart bite. Medium sour. Lots of fruit. Very good after a hot day. Mouthfeel has prickly carbonation and some nice pucker. Mild to medium tannic from the barrel. I’ve liked both of these Farmer’s Reserve sours quite a bit - significantly more than when I tried them on tap, for some reason. It’s great to see Almanac put out some better stuff, particularly sours, which seems like a natural area for them (and the sour version of their first beer was excellent). I’m definitely looking forward to the next round of Farmer’s Reserves. brystmar (1314) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 26, 2013
Smells great! Oaky wine barrels, grapes like no tomorrow, infectiously tasty yeast. Soured fruit and cabernet barrels; refined acetic profile. A damn tasty sour. tripelthreat (190) - Soquel, California, USA - JUL 2, 2013
Bottle. Deep orange with a small short lived head providing a little lacing. Nose has grapes, berries, musty earthy funk and some oak. Taste is mildly sweet followed by strong sourness. Flavor is lots of grape with grape and plum skins, red wine, lactic sourness, tannins. Reminiscent of rose champagne. Carbonation is prickly and drying. Light in the mouth. Excellent.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Yellow-orange pour with a white head. The aroma is pure funk. I get a lot of blue cheese notes as well as some lemons and oranges. The flavor is more tart than funky. I get some lemon and orange notes, as well as some Belgian yeast. There is also some funk in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice sour. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - AUG 3, 2013
Pour out of 375 mL bottle, aroma brings notes of grape juice, white grape skins, hints of oak, tannins, touch of white fruits with apricot, hints of cracker and biscuit, nice lactic note as well with a hint of spice. Taste is a mix of nice lactic lemon, hints of oak, biscuit, bread, nice spice, touch of tannins, lots of nice white grape, some slight red grape as well, finishing lactic, tart and fairly bitter. jtclockwork (16955) - , New Jersey, USA - SEP 25, 2013

Thanks to ACD. Appearance: cloudy orange, small white head. Aroma: where do I even start? Floral, sour, herbal, great nose, underripe grapefruit, cranberry. Just a feast for the nasal senses!!! Flavour: sour and floral and grapefruit, spicy, swirling around in my mouth, some dryness, lovely long tangy bitter finish. This is a winner. Thanks Alex.
