COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This barrel-aged ale is a celebration of the California autumn harvest. Brewed with heirloom pumpkins from La Tercera Farms in Bodega Bay, crisp Fuyu persimmons from Hamada Farms in the San Joaquin Valley and fresh ginger from the Santa Clara Valley, then aged for over a year in white wine barrels to create a deliciously complex wild ale. Enjoy with delicate white fish and roasted squash.

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with light to medium head, didn’t last much or leave behind any lacing on the glass. Aromas are a little weird with that earthy pumpkin and persimmon tannin flavor, other scents of lemon funk, oak, and white vino. Flavor is more up my alley with citrus fruits, skins, and a ginger/pumpkin finish. Very subtle on the persimmon and pumpkin notes as far as taste goes. Medium body with a good bit of carbonation. Thanks for sending me this Mike. Cheers

A weird, somewhat savory note in the aroma, presumably pumpkin. Light ginger element, mostly just a mediumish American sour ale with a high lactic presence. Good stuff, not close to #1 though.

Straw yellow in color... Citrus tartness on the nose... Flavor is oak, citrus up front, notes of ginger, lemon tartness... Don't notice the pumpkins all that much... Solid, light and crisp on the palate... A sessionable sour ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 375 mL bottle, thanks Aaron! Hazy yellow/tangerine orange pour with thin white head, aroma has big oak, white wine, nice tannins, hints of pumpkin, spice, touch of caramel. Taste is a mix of spice, with cinnamon, nutmeg going into a slight tart fruit note, maybe the persimmons? Hints of biscuit, bread, nice lactic spice, finishing fairly bitter, oaky, fairly tart. Interesting.

Bottle @ home, via trade with bytemesis. Thanks Mike! Pours a hazy golden appearance with an off white head. Tart tropical fruity, passion fruity, lemon, guava, tangy, a touch funky aroma. Lightly puckering, lemon, passionfruit, light barnyard, white wine, fairly dry flavor. A fair amount of tart fruit. Not sure I really get the pumpkin. Fun beer overall but I prefer Reserve #1 a little better.

Bottle shared by Tony. Cloudy yellow pour with a white head. Sour aromas. Pronounced persimmon notes with a pumpkin finish. Tart and sour. A bit salty. Good body and mouthfeel. An interesting combination and well done.

Big thanks to bman1113vr for sharing this bottle. Hazy yellow pour with a white head. The aroma has some sour white grape notes as well as some biscuit malt and light funk. The flavor is very similar. I get a lot of grape and persimmon character as well as some oak and heavy white wine notes. Light funk. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice sour. Glad I got to try it.

Cloudy light yellow orange. Nose of lacto, ginger, wood, and a bit of dust. Flavors follow with a bit of pumpkin flesh showing through if you look for it, but comes through mostly as a dusty earthiness. Light ginger zing and nice tart citrus lacto finish. Very good but not of the same level as #3.

Draft at Stone Sour Fest 2013. Golden pour, with a slight haze and a white head. Sour lemons, berry, lacto, oak, light pumpkin notes, and spice. Quite nice.
