Summer 2013 vintage, 375ml bottle into a HF wine glass. Despite letting it calm in the fridge for a few days it pours a hazy amber color. Strawberry blonde? A finger of lasting super sticky bone white foam. Aroma is tart and juicy. More of a generic fruit smell then individual fruits but it is fresh and amazing. That fruit blends seamlessly into white wine, musk, lemon rind, and some bready malts. Taste is tart strawberries and sour nectarine juice. Finishes dry and bready with some barrel, light spice, and funky musk. Very delicious and quenching. Mouth feel is creamy and full with a lasting lactic acid coating. This is an incredibly impressive wild ale.

Pours a hazy yellow and has a quickly dissolving head. The aroma is of a pleasant mild funk, berry like fruit, apricots, oak, and very weak grape notes. The flavor is crisp, medium acidity, sweet citrus tangerines, oak, light malted grain taste, and a nice berry kick from the strawberries. The finish is acidic, dry, of grains, and leaves a cross between citrus and berry like fruit taste in my mouth. Overall nicely done, a solid beverage.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours a hazy gold with some white head. Funky nose, rhubarb, wood pulp, pithy, some lurking acidity. Flavor has acetic acid, lemon, peach, grass. Acetic finish. Solid.

Bottle thanks to txultrarunner. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head. The aroma is strong sour fruit, strawberry. Thin mouthfeel with light tart strawberry and lingering sourness. Very impressive.

he flavor follows with a strong sour profile and mild citrus and berry. Kind of tastes like sour watermelon jolly ranchers without the sweetness. There’s some juicy nectarine in there as well. Finishes dry with hints of oak. The body is light and spritzy. Perfect for the style. This was the best of the sours we tried from Almanac (#1-#4). Overall this is just a really solid American wild. Probably one of the best I’ve had this year. A great sour with phenomenal fruit flavors. Recommended.

Tasted at GABF. Almost more of a Berliner Weiss than a Wild. Very dry and tart with a hint of wet fruit on the back end. I was expecting a bit more of a mouth puckering sour flavor, but the richness and wet characteristics of the beer make for a very interesting glass.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Yellow pour with a white head. The aroma is full of some strong strawberry notes. Smells almost exactly like strawberry cheesecake. The flavor is also very similar to strawberry cheesecake. I get some strawberry notes as well as some biscuit and a medium level of tartness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Delicious. Super pumped I got to try this one.
