COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We love blackberries. Tart, sweet and complex but guarded by thorny branches, these alluring fruit have been a favorite of ours since we added them to our very first beer. This sour blonde ale is infused with loads of coastal Blackberries from Swanton Berry Farm in California’s Santa Cruz Mountains and aged in wine barrels for many months. Pair with duck dishes and summer salads.

opaque between peach pink and carrot red color, little lacing round the edges. effervescent scent, yeast, sweet honeysuckle, cardboard, taste is hard too put my finger on, light, getting some berry, reminding me of their rasperry offering last summer. I don’t know, much like a fruity wine.

375 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/1/2016. Pours slightly hazy reddish orange/pink/purple color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing lings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tart/tangy blackberry, fruit skin, cherry, plum, lemon, green apple, red grape, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and cracker; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, vanilla, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, blackberries, wine barrels, and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart/tangy blackberry, fruit skin, cherry, plum, lemon, green apple, red grape, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, and cracker; with light notes of leathery/musty funk, vanilla, pepper, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tartness; light yeast/wine/oak spiciness, and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy blackberry, fruit skin, cherry, plum, lemon, green apple, red grape, white wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, pepper, light leathery/musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, blackberries, wine barrels, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and wine/oak spiciness balance; with minimal puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tart/spiciness and wine/oak spiciness. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/grainy/acidic, and fairly tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is an awesome fruited sour/wild ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, blackberries, wine barrels, and light-moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced lactic/tannic/drying finish. Really great well rounded Brett complexity; perfectly balanced Lacto, fruit, and wine barrels; and just enough pale malt to keep it from being puckering. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Bottle, many thanks Thomas Schneider! Hazy purple color with white head. Aroma is blackberries, barrel, cinnamon. Taste is cinnamon, blackberries, medium carbonation, tannic. Medium carbonation. Awesome, better than Mûre if you ask me (although it's very sour as usual).

Keg at BD Abz. It pours lightly hazy red with a medium white head. The aroma is tart, tangy, sour berry, blackberry, jam, sherbet and some candy. The taste is crisp, tart, good mouth - pucker, sour blackberry, sherbet, acidic bite, granny smith apple and a touch of jam. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Bright, tart and fruity. Rather quaffable.

Keg at Brewdog, Bristol. Pours hazy berry purple with small purple pink head. Nose of acetic sour dark berries, some wood in there too. On the taste it’s uber acidic, sour blackberries, light lemon, soft funk. Big dry, tart, dark berry finish. Light body. Enjoyed this, very tart indeed

12oz ish bottle from Whole Foods Cupertino. Probably been sitting in my closet for two years. Clear amber color with a hint of purple. Nice initial acetic sour aroma with a hint of blackberries...very Almanac. Medium high sourness, but still nice to drink. Probably dry but still has some nice body giving a illusion of fruity sweetness. Very good.

Bottle. Pours a softly hazed purple with a medium sized pink white head. Big sticky jam on the nose, berries, fresh and full of seeds. Medium bodied, soft acid, blackberries are all over, bits of fruit and jammy and full of tart berries. Long acid, berries and jam. Quite lovely, lingering acid and berries. So pretty.
