COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Citrus and beer have always made a great pair, ever since the first lemon wedge was added to a cold wheat beer. Here we expand on that tradition in a new way, melding the intensely aromatic zest of Buddha’s Hand citrons with the bracing tartness of Bergamot oranges in a sour blonde ale aged in wine barrels. Pair with sushi or flakey white fish or contrast with earthy roasted root vegetables.

From bottle. Pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma has both lots of citrus and lots of stone fruits, funk, light cheese, zesty grape fruit, yuzu, lime and maybe a slight hint of bergamot. Taste is sour, citric, funky, parmesan cheesy, oaky, dry, fruity, leading to a slight watery, juicy finish. Average carbonation and a juicy oily body.

Aged bottle via PUB’R trade. Pours turbid golden with fizzy, white head. Nose is huge florals and white peppery spice, hops wheat. More Earl Grey tea (oil of bergamot) in the flavor, tart light-skinned fruit, hops, wheat, citrus, and oaky white winey flavors. A true stellar straddler of the beer/wine barrier.

Bottle from craft beer cellar batch from June 15 A: citrusy, light orange app: clear bond no head t/p: thin body with long acidic finish. Soft to moderate carbonation. O: Really enjoyed the aroma from the different citrus used in this beer. It has a nice refreshing tartness. I had the beer alone but could definitely imagine a few food pairing that would work good with it. First beer from Almanac for me, nice intro.
