I thoroughly enjoyed this brew, I love my barley wines. The pour was a beautiful reddish-brown and smelled plenty of pumpkin, oak and liquor. Brandy was more subtle in the taste, while sugary pumpkin and vanilla notes tickled the tongue. With a finish of toffee, caramel and bitter pumpkin, you’d soon forget it was a hefty 12% abv. Thanks for the gift, OmegaX - cheers! Daniel719 (144) - Safety Harbor, Florida, USA - NOV 28, 2013
A lot of spice. I get no brandy which is disappointing. Goes down smooth for a 12 beer. Not bad for a pumpkin beer.beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - NOV 28, 2013

Bottle. Pours ruby red with small head. Aroma is full if spice, with some sweetness. Taste is smooth, spicey, with some alcohol warming. Don’t really get any brandy. Overall, I do not like pumpkin beers, this is pretty good. Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 28, 2013
Sample at Kurtkeller 001: Pumpkin-tastic 01 on 11/22/2013. Deep copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of pumpkins, toffee and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of pumpkin pie spices, caramel malt and figgy booze. The finish is sweet with a lingering boozed pumpkin aftertaste. Good beer overall. rayl101 (163) - Brownstown, Michigan, USA - NOV 24, 2013
Pours a murky light brown with a half inch white head that leaves a lot of lacing. Aroma is the nice caramel & toffee I love in a barleywine, with some pumpkin & spices.
Flavor is much the same with the pumpkin & spice being more prominent. Rich, full mouthfeel rounds it out making it one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve had this year. Delicious!

On tap at 10 East. An excellent beer for a cool early Fall afternoon. A murky brownish/red body with a thin white cap. Aroma has some nice caramelized pumpkins, brown sugar, nutmeg, oak and vanilla powder. Taste has a really nice complexity to it with the caramelized pumpkins, pumpkin spices, the brandy and oak. Extremely well balanced and it has a long sweet finish of pumpkin pie and brandy. Ibrew2or3 (8743) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - NOV 21, 2013
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2013 12.8% bottled Autumn 2013 that is a 37.5cl bottle that is courtesy of GT2. So a barrel aged pumpkin barleywine. Wow, that is ‘out there’ but I’m game. It pours with a hazy rusty amber body that supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up ripe cherry fruity esters, smooth sweet brandy, blended and blunted cinnamon and brown sugar coated wood. Well off in the back, if I concentrate, there’s snippets of pumpkin meat notes. The taste erupts with a multi facetted flavor attack. I get ripe cherry and prune like sweet fruity esters, fairly smooth sweet brandy booze notes and then cinnamon. Next the brandy gets boozier and a touch harsh but a pleasing mix of pumpkin meat, cinnamon graham cracker and a highly toasted pumpkin pie crust hold this together and take it to new heights. Wow. What the… Smooth notes of cinnamon, brandy and mild pumpkin hang on into the finish and after taste. Very cool experience. This beer begs the question, will there be a non Heirloom Pumpkin version (just regular run-of-the-mill pumpkins)? I just need to get up to the brewery and start bugging people and asking questions until they toss my sorry ass out. Cheers! Wow, this was one of those random unplanned finds that turned out to unfold into most excellence. Copper brownish color with a hint of orange. Tanned head. Nose of sweet brandy, earthy squash, caramel malt, and a ever so slight hint of booze. Flavors spill onto the palate starting with a tender sweetness blended with pumpkin, allspice, and cinnamon, that melts into an encompassing brandied pumpkin, right out of the cask from which it came. 12% ABV is hidden delicately. Fantastic brew!!! beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - NOV 16, 2013
Tasted at the 8th Annual Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest on Nov 9, 2013. This barleywine/spiced ale pours a medium amber orange color. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, caramel, pumpkin, brandy and brown sugar. A medium to full bodied barleywine. The malts are fruity and sweet, caramel and pumpkin. The hops are floral and earthy. Nice balance between the malts and pumpkin, wood and brandy. Touch of brandy sweetness. Some alcohol and a touch of spices. Very smooth. Nice sipping beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
